AY vs offtopic.

Connected AY-k via a parallel port to the offtopic.
There is a glitch - when reading volume registers, FF is read from them, if
the numbers 0,1,2,4,8 are written in them; otherwise it reads normally.
In real life it reads normally.

why all this is needed is not clear;( You take almost any emulsion and an aylpt circuit and
enjoy life. There is no need to read from ay ports through hardware, the ports are already
already in the emulsion...

The only problem that remains is how to connect the circuit you specified to another offtopic
(not PC, but Amiga).

And I don’t argue. Another thing is that you need to read, for example, to check the presence of
AY in general.
PS: sorry for the late answer, there was a problem with echoes...

why? well, or use lines like the end of the paper and some other things, 4 bits
will definitely be typed, although some will be inverted

Well, why use any other lines if we just make a normal
reading circuit from it and write/read for testing - maybe when
we want to read something else - you never know. And he’s a capricious bastard - he doesn’t want
to read - maybe someone has encountered this in real life (the reading scheme is definitely
proper - rechecked several times).
ps. vader is not available yet - I answered for him.

WBR, fyrex.

What does it mean that the scheme is correct and how is it checked if it can’t be read?

There is no one-sidedness - the port is bidirectional by definition. This is also
checked - when switching to read mode from it, a high impedance seems to be
set at the pins.

And plug AP6 between AY and LPT try it.
