OG> 1. How to programmatically distinguish a z80 from a z84
The marking of the processor is Z84000 - this is the Z80.
OG> 2. How to programmatically distinguish AY-3-8910 / 12 and YM2949
AY and YM are distinguished by different values of registers 14 and 15
immediately after turning on the power. AY10 and AY12 can be distinguished
only if port 15 of the register is connected somewhere at AY10.
OG> 3. How to programmatically check the presence/absence: XTR-modem
RTFM doc.
OG> Viccom-modem
Depends on the modem. There is always a connection between tape-out and tape-in.
You can also try to test the bell circuit.
OG> CDOS-modem
See diagram. Probably like Vicomm, only there seemed to be feedback in the digital part.
OG> HAYES-modem
Well, damn it, it's a strange question.
OG> General Sound
Read the doc.
OG> SounDrive(?)
NO WAY. This is Covox!
OG> CMOS clock
Also a strange question.
OG> CACHE (16/32)
Enable via IN (0FBh) andtest your memory. 32kb are switched
as ROM banks 48/128.
OG> 4. How to programmatically check the stability of the data bus
Catch the IM2_TEST.ZiP file in ZX.SPECTRUM and look.
OG> 5. How to programmatically check the health of RAM
Hmm... Tests with ones, zeros, one bit with a shift, a random
value. Well, and a regeneration test. See the file iRAMtest.ZiP.
OG> PS in ZX.SPECTRUM. By the way, what is the difference between CMOS according to Gluck and CMOS on Scorpion?
In Scorpion, access to it via ()() is made.

WHERE? (do not send to the stars... :) (ts) SPECTROPHONE)

It would be advisable to get acquainted with an example of how it works...

I see...

Yeah! couldn't be weirder :( but still... :)

Give me the doc plz, I'll read it... :)

FIXED! :(

You don’t understand! The Z84 processor DOES NOT EXIST!
Z8400 is the standard designation for the Z80!
Find the Zilog Z80, it will say Z8400!
The remaining letters and numbers encode the version
(military, extended, regular), case type, speed
characteristics.
The only possible difference is instead of OUT (C),0
will be OUT (C),FF on high-speed computer processors.
Soviet processors do not apply here.
