[1/2] MadRom v3.0 HELP

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Alexander Kormishin To All 5 November 1998

Hello, All!

So, I finally decided to upload the firmware.
In the zip there is also TRDOS 5.12f by Reanimator in two types - for
Pentagon-512 and for Pentagon-1024, turbocharged. In the firmware
now the mikriks are called the same as I have, so before
flashing you need to enter the ones you need.

Just tell me right away whether there were yuyuks in the echo or not!

2Roman_Milukov: We are waiting for the circuit diagram for turning on the computer's power :)

2Tim_Kelly: please put this on the server!

There are two firmware files in the archive: BASIC - to start
the firmware without flashing it and look at it (on the disk the BASIC
file must appear before the code one) and code - which
is directly flashed into page A14-0, A15-0 ROM.

In different computers you can get to this page in different ways.
In the Pentagon this is probably the most difficult. :)
To get to the service page there you need to do
the following:
1st option:
1. from the anode VD2 (who still has it) feed it to DD82:5
2. from DD82:6 feed it to DD76:13
3. from DD77:8 feed it to DD76:10
4. from DD62:12 we feed to DD36:27
5. to DD76:12we supply ground (if when the power is turned on, the input
does not go to the firmware), leave +5V on DD76:11. If
necessary, between DD77:6 and ground we set the condenser to
100...200 pF. Well, the old signals from the legs, where
new ones go, must, of course, be cut off.

2nd option:
Legs 11 and 12 D76 should be cut off from +5V. Apply GND to the 12th, and
connect the 11th like this:

/RESET ──┤>├─┬── to 11n. D76
KD522 │
+5B ──███─┤
10K │
/ exit to the service page.
│
═╧═

and give the 4th leg D82 “1”, releasing it first.
with DD62:12 is fed to DD36:27, the old signal from DD36:27
is cut off. If necessary, between DD77:6 and the common wire
we set the conder to 100...200 pF.
(This option has not been tested)
and Leningrad-clones install controllers in all sorts of ways, so
it’s quite difficult to say anything definite here.
but usually one diode is enough for everything to work as
supposed. The modification is done almost the same as in Pentagon,
all controllers are essentially the same.

Controls - hotkeys are underlined in the screensaver
K-mouse. If the computer has a crookedly connected
kempston-joystick (decryption on A5 alone), the arrow
will be retracted to the edge of the screen when resetting (so that it doesn’t
work when it’s not needed). However, the mouse driver itselfat the same time
it does not kill...

a little about Asmah. As you know, any 128th assembler
remains resident when exiting it into BASIC,
debugger or when starting a program. Only now they leave themselves
on different pages. It is known for certain :) that
STORM and ZXASM are on page #14, and XAS is on page #51.
And in ALASM, in general, it seems, this can be configured. Now,
if you exit Asma correctly, you can work
with something else, and then continue working again by entering
into it from the firmware, if Asma is not killed... And STORM doesn’t even
care about this, you can kill it yourself, but only
the source code remains alive!
Tested on Storm, ZXASM3.0 and XAS7.44 .

The same applies to to STS, with the difference that in it
you can generally be perverted in any way you like, even dump in
it, he can easily tolerate this! (however, the screen
still deteriorates (until the first press of BREAK))

The only bad thing is that only ASMAs and debuggers can do this (well,
some commanders).

CMOS clock is supported according to Gluck: the drive selected from the screen saver
is remembered in register #10 CMOS, SetUp with all sorts of
(un)useful things, and the time/date display.
The clock will be found if the CMOS register #11 contains
#AA. It is believed that the time/date is stored in binary decimal
format, days of the weekare coded as follows: 1-Monday,...7-Sunday.
Months: 1-Jan,...,12-Dec.
It is possible to turn on the computer using the CMOS alarm
After resetting, the firmware compares the current time and the alarm
alarm. If the hours and minutes coincide, and the difference in seconds
is no more than 4 seconds, then, depending on the state
of the "alarm rom" flag, control is transferred to DOS or
Basic128. Moreover, using software microphones you can additionally
set any computer configuration and when you turn on
it will all work. For example, if there is a modification
"substituting the cache instead of the basic128 ROM", then when you turn on
control can be transferred to the cache (and after
control is transferred, the running program can set
some other starting configuration corresponding,
for example, to the next day of the week:). Registers of software
mikriks: #13, #14.
The names of mikriks and the addresses of their ports are entered
independently before flashing the ROM (or even STS).
and the name of each mikrik is allocated 10 bytes.
There is no Cyrillic font. This text is located at the end
of the firmware - 192 bytes. Directly behind it are the addresses
of the mic ports.

When a new microphone appears on your computer, it is not at all necessary
to erase the ROM - in the place of unused microphones
there are “#FF”, so you can enter new ones into the firmware
names and flash the ROM. the same applies to ports.

Mikriks are replaced by chains LE1, LA3, LP8-L 1, ...

for example using LP8-L 1:

Mikrik: on LP8-L 1:

LP8.1
S ┌─┬┐
a ───── \ a ───────────────│D││──┐
b ───── \────> c ┌─°E││ │
L 1 │ └─┴┘ │
┌──┐ │ │
S ───┬──│ °───┘ LP8.2 │
│ └──┘ ┌─┬┐ ├──────> c
b D││──┘
└─┴┘

This is a general case, but sometimes one element LI1
or LL1 is enough.
and it is better to install registers with reset for micro-ports:
1533ИР35, 589ИР12, 155ИР13, 2x1533TM8,...

The alarm clock turns on keys ss+k. You need to select the desired
drive using the “1”, “4” keys. CS+2 - clearing RAM
512K/1024K and creating a ramdisk on "D". You can
enter "CMOS SetUp" using the "0" key. When you press ENTER, the
command of Max Petrov is launched.

Operating firmware flags (register #12 CMOS):

are made for those whose views on rules, for example, ASMA
differ from ours :)

bit2=0/1...Enter using the "R" key to page #14/#51 #7FFD;
bit3=0/1...Enter using the "H" key into the cache at address 0/#3FFD;
bit4=0/1...Enter using the "T" key into the page #17/#57 #7FFD;
bit5=0/1...Log in using the "U" key in Basic128 from the address #c7/#00.

Once, 05 Nov 98, someone Alexander Kormishin wrote to All,

AK> On different computers, you can get to this page in different ways.

B GRM'e - elementary ;) - by pressing RESET... Well, programmatically like this:

bit7/port#7FFD - "1" - DOS/BAS48/BAS128, "0" - additional page;
bit6/port#7FFD - "1" - blocking until RESET, "0" - "1" will not be canceled.

Of course, on GRM-512 the top pages are overwritten... And this is unpleasant if
IS-DOS has RAM-DISK or ALASM...

Well, is it really impossible to check the format?! Check just one
bit...

Does it happen otherwise? ;)

EP> Does it happen otherwise? ;)

Of course!
Personally, I think that the days of the week should _be sure_ to be stored as: 1-Sunday,
2-Monday... Then you can use the automatic translation “summer<->winter time”.
But Mr. Gluck said “so” - that means so! :) Maybe it's not too late to redo it?

From Andrey Isaev To All 11 November 1998

Greetings, Roman!

Somehow on 07 Nov 98 at 01:22:26 there was a conflict
Roman Milukov and Eudgine Palenock were arguing on the topic [1/2] MadRom v3.0 HELP
I decided to add some heat to this dialogue

RM> Of course!

RM> 2-Monday... Then you can use the automatic translation

And I always said that it should be exactly like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrey was with you.

From Kirill Frolov To All 11 November 1998

RM> Why is there more detail?! You put the register on port #CFF7 and get it...

Well, damn it, you have to write it in help! They rulez!

Here they tried to put madrom on kai :-( )

His h.z. how to start normally - everything is not like in
normal computers. Well, I finally managed to launch it using
a launch program (specially written). Well, it turned out:
assembler, sts, commander, BASIC/Trdos menus, disk selection, brain cleaning, clock-setup works, but X-SORU and
BE didn’t work :-/ WHY ???? It works on my Scorpio
, but I haven’t changed its clock to accommodate the glitch yet and the brain
is not switching to #7ffd yet. Maybe the program doesn't like
through ()() page switching done in ka? There
the 7th bits of ports #1ffd and #7ffd are switched, and what is below is
like in scorpion.

And why can’t madrom be launched in the cache? :-(
ROMs are a pity for experiments, but I don’t have an emulator.
(I’m talking about the ROMs emulator, not about the offtopic. Cool thing!)

Maybe...

Well, that’s it. I’m done with Poke, Kirill.
