New version of BestView. About unreceived sections to my address. The addresses for
contacting the author have not changed and are in the program and accompanying
documentation. The email mailing list has already been processed. Work on BestView 3.0
is carried out in parallel and irrevocably.

Hello, All!

A new version has been released - BestView 2.9!

Differences from version 2.8:

- you can unpack files to disk ('SS+ENTER');
- a setup has appeared, where you can customize the colors, activity
of indicators when playing music, as well as the state
of auto-detection of disc change;
- you can run files in 48K mode with the #7FFD port closed
('SS+R');
-the style of the symbols ':',';','/','\';
has been changed - the transition to viewing the next part
of a long file is faster;
- sounds
obtained using only the envelope are correctly displayed on the frequency indicator;
- when playing Pro Tracker 3 modules compiled without
a player, frequency tables from PT 3.4 final are used, since
they are calculated with maximum accuracy;
- when playing Pro Tracker 3 modules compiled with
the player, the frequency table is taken directly from the
module (if its length is not more than #3F40 bytes);
- as is known, the standard PT3 player freezes if the "vibrato" command is encountered in the
playing module.
In BestView 2.8 the player was corrected in such a way that
freezes stopped, but the command "vibrato" was ignored.
Now this command is processed as it should be
(byte #1D is placed in the player at offset #A34).
- in Pro Tracker 3, when setting a new value for the period
of the envelope, the envelope shape register (R13) is overwritten,
and at the same time the envelope “breaks” and a crackling sound is heard. Now, when
listening to PT3 modules, you can disable R13
overwriting (and eliminate crackling) using the 'V' key.
- you can view ALASM files for the operating system
X-DOS;
- BugFix: there could be freezes when viewing some files;
- BugFix: when viewing ALASM files, pseudo-graphics and Russian letters were sometimes displayed incorrectly

- due to optimization, the size of BestView decreased
by six sectors.
