Hello, All!
Now, there are already two programs for HD. In the zip you will find: a formatter
for MSDOS disks and a copier demo.
Formatter.
You'll figure out all the controls yourself.
The disk rotation speed in the drive should not differ from
the nominal (300 or 360 rps) by more than -4.5%. For non-standard formats, the requirements for this parameter are more
strict: -1..2%. If this requirement is not met, even if you succeed in formatting the disks, they will work with errors.
When checking the disk, all failed clusters are stored in FAT.
As it turned out, the PC-BIOS is not at all required to adjust to the disk format (machinations with drivers do not count). As a result, in some places non-standard formats will not be read, in others they will not be written down. Formats
using the 1k sector will work
only on spec. By the way, the existing software does not work with them :)
So, if you are not sure, use only the formats "720", "1.
2М" and "1.44М".
Copier (demo).
Keys: cursor, ENT - copy, R - change the type of extended memory. SS+1..4 - change TRDOS drive.
1..4 - re-read MSDOS drive.
The program is still very limited. there is no interface, you can’t tag files
, it doesn’t know about subdirectories, it copies only in one direction...
But it can be configured for an MSDOS disk: HD or DD, 1 or 2 sectors
ra percluster, 512/1024 bytes per sector, as many sectors as you want on a track.
Files are written to the trdos disk through #3d13, until it is cached
so it is ungodly slow.
A normal commander is being written and I don’t want to waste time on upgrading this demo.
Goodbye, All.
