[0/2] pcunzip for TRDOS

ZXNet echo conference «real.speccy»

From Andrey Isaev To All 22 June 1998

Hello, -=All=-!

Here they asked about the subject, so, I’m throwing the creation of my incredibly crooked hands
:) the engine was used from the best design, and therefore many thanks for it
(engine) to Mikhail Kondratiev.

Briefly about the work of the subject:

1 - it needs 128kb of memory
2 - it can fully expand .TRD images, while
asks if you need it.
3 - Works with files of almost any length, according to the
Melon and S-Terminal standards.
4 - When working with files, uses a three-byte extension.
5 - If you hold down the longest
key on the keyboard during loading, then before opening the next file
you will be asked whether to open it.

Features:

1 - Due to the use of an advanced engine, there are still two methods of packaging.
2 - When writing a file, the presence of a similar one is not checked.
3 - When opening .TRD images, be careful when changing
disks, a fatal outcome is possible!

Best regards, Andrey.

PS: questions, advice, stories about glitches are accepted.

Cool!

Request to real-life developers - test this item, so that if it happens There is
a normal opportunity to extract files from *.trd, the conference rules will be
changed towards the use of this image for transfer.

Hasta la vista.

Indeed, test it, otherwise I checked it on one trd.

Sincerely, Andrey.

Why didn’t you put the “mouse” in?

You will have a mouse... but then :)

Why change them? let everything remain as it is.

From Roman Milukov To All 4 July 1998

Not yet!!! I'm getting angry at the turbojet engines! :) I didn’t like them!..

All the best.

Cool! then you need it.
I haven’t checked the .trd unpacking yet, but it’s very nice to use :) Although, if the zip
has a lot of files, then firstly, it’s bad that there’s no indication of the current file number for
unpacking; and secondly,
there remains the same glitch as in the subject that I threw at you: it pulls out only the first 13 files from
the archive :(
apparently this is a remnant of the exhausted kernel (although there is no such glitch there)

With the best, Denis.

Why didn’t you like them so much? A very convenient format, IMHO. For example, it is more convenient to throw unclosed logs on the entire disk into trd, and not only
them.

The only thing left from the thorough unzip is the unpacking procedure,
although I didn’t expect such a glitch, I’ll check it tomorrow and fix it (that is, already
today :)

Listen, is it really possible to work with a zip file as with a directory?
That is. not unpack everything at once, but selectively? I would really like to... :)

With this, Andrey, let me say goodbye.
KIR.

From Andrey Isaev To All 17 July 1998

Well, there’s no such thing there!

If you consider that both pages in the ksas are completely filled, it will be a bit difficult, but
I’ll think about it.

From Roman Milukov To All 18 July 1998

Think! Otherwise, it happens, you look at what you unpacked - but you don’t need it
this - you waited in vain.

Do you know that any file can be skipped? You can finally not open anything, but just look at what’s in the archive.

Well, in general, now I’m downloading the latest version, all the glitches found are fixed in it and
it’s now possible to read the commentary on the archive (if there is one), but only at
a resolution of 512x192.

AI> Do you know that any file can be skipped? You can finally

Skipping is not very convenient. How can I look at the “entire list”?

I looked. But I just couldn’t find how to enable this viewing mode. Where
is this opportunity? I should have thrown a small helpik.

Well, why is there a help there? and so everything is clear.

From Roman Milukov To All 26 July 1998

What kind of comment is this? A .diz file or what? If yes, then nothing works! :(

No, I’m just wondering how screwed up those who don’t have 512x192 will be.
