From Felix Knajzev To All 6 July 2000

Greetings, O venerable All!

Subzh. TRD inside. Latest edition from Oleg Grigoriev. Modem - according to the MK
(nmi) scheme, clock - SMUC only!. You can make a 'compote' from the subject and yesterday's subject
('sortsy_#1') for your hardware. There are no errors, like the previous version ('DosxOGFK.$Z'). ;) Tomorrow I'll start posting Dickie_Mailer.

Best regards, Felix.

So you can take the clock driver from that version and put it in this one?

For this Au Revoire, CompoWellcome. [Team GS]

Uh-huh. And that’s exactly it. Those. replace the handler itself for the desired RTC type, and
do not blindly copy files
'MR_****.C'. Labels and conditional translations may not match.

and that’s exactly what happened ;) I just replaced the file, assembled it and it works :)).

PS: how do they differ? I could at least give a small description...

ZY^2: is it that the most decently made terminal from your img / the one with
the status bar at the top / is so mercilessly buggy?

Only Oleg can do this. ;) I didn't check for "what
difference". Dosx, compiled from 'DosxOGFK.$Z', works great.

ND> ZY^2: and almost the most decently made terminal

:) Cool. My version of MK's terminal was called "the most decently made
terminal." :)

By the way, I also have a terminal package from Andrey Isaev (Roman Gavrilov).
Bonuses: zmodem, modem status resident (LEDs), ANSI, port lock from the command
line. HO! This software seemed extremely “crude” to me. The nmi
handler lacks protection against hardware “bouncing” of this signal -> on buggy hardware
- reset. :( zmodem support - the _earliest_ _early_ "sucker-spitters" from Misha
Kondratiev are glitchy.

ND> from your
ND> img

I would like to remind you that 99.9% of this package is the work of Oleg Grigoriev. Misha
Kondratiev should not be forgotten either. ;)

ND> /the one that with the status line at the top/ is it so mercilessly
ND> buggy?

:-/ Strange. At least for me and Oleg it works great. There is no
z-modem support. Also, IMHO, in _this_ version the modem port is always locked to
38400. If you're interested, I'll give you the offset in the file where it (the locking speed) can
be changed.

Describe_details_ what and where is “mercilessly buggy”.

2Oleg: Throw here, please, the beginning of my collection of this term, where there is a short history.

I should have added - 'for isdos' :)

yes, in principle, the terminal is not really needed in isdos. After all, in the wild you can upload files
on hold and send them directly. IMHO, it’s even more convenient.

you sent - your F-).

ND>> /the one with the status line at the top/ is so mercilessly buggy?

with a 14.4K momed :-/.

yeah, it costs 38400.

FK> boxes) can you change
to 57600? what's the point? in the term, why?

FK> Describe in _detail_ what and where it is “mercilessly buggy”.
ok.
we load the term, give the command to the momed, for example, 'ATI4' /output the current
state' it starts to be displayed, then, maybe in the middle, maybe at the beginning,
freezes / or maybe everything will be printed normally/. After that, you can enter anything from the keyboard, it is displayed on the screen, but it does not get into the momed / it is silent
and does not respond /.
we exit it and enter again - and then the term continues to display information from the place where it stopped last time. and again, it may exit to the end, or
maybe it will freeze again.
and so with any commands.
is that enough?

FK>> differ." Dosx, compiled from 'DosxOGFK.$Z', works
FK>> great.
ND> it depends on which side...

Hmm. And where is the other side? :-/ If you are not satisfied with the speed
of working with a 14400 modem when downloading to the flop (cps ~600...700 /arkmail+hydra/),
this is not a reason to doubt the _glitch-free nature of the subject. Dikiy runs under a more or less full-fledged iS-DOS OS, which takes up some of the computer's resources

Let me remind you: Scorpio+Turbo(7MHz)+USR14400(baud=38400)+HDD(SMUC) = cps ~1600. on
"arkmail hydra on hdd", i.e. ~maximum cps for 14400.

Leningrad-512K/3.625MHz/USR14400(baud=38400): arcmail hydra on _RAM-disk_ -
cps ~1100.

ND> yes, in principle, the terminal is not really needed in the isdo.

It is needed to set up a modem and surf boards (BBS).

ND> in wild you can upload files to hold and send them via direct.
ND> IMHO, it’s even more convenient.

Sometimes you need to quickly transfer one or two files to generate
hands for this purpose in wild. - brake jam. True, Dikiy
also has a terminal, but it’s too slow, doesn’t keep a log and doesn’t work with
file panels.

From Nicolas Davidov To All 22 July 2000

FK> Hmm. Where else does the other side come from? :-/ If you are not satisfied with the speed
it is always there :)

not ^^^^^, but 33600.

FK> /arkmail+hydra/), then this is not a reason to doubt the _glitch-free_ subject. Wild
and I didn’t even say that it’s buggy...

FK> works under a more or less full-fledged iS-DOS OS, which takes up part of

it looks like it requires too much...

FK> Let me remind you: Scorpio+Turbo(7MHz)+USR14400(baud=38400)+HDD(SMUC) = cps ~1600 on
FK> "arkmmeil hydra on hdd", i.e. ~maximum cps for 14400.
...for a packed file. and on the unpacked one what cps?

FK> Leningrad-512K/3.625MHz/USR14400(baud=38400): arcmail hydra on _RAM-disk_
FK> -
FK> cps ~1100.
so what? In both of your examples, momeds are running at 14.4K... did you run it on higher-speed momeds? IMHO, no.
it’s very disappointing to have cps 1800 for any connections from 16.8K to 33.6K, when Melon
accelerates over 3000...
