Khayushki, All!
I have a printer with an IRPR interface.
I wrote a small program under TR-DOS and it prints.
But I have a long-standing dream of making this device print under ISDOS. Today I
made an unsuccessful attempt to realize this dream. So I did the following
actions:
1. I rewrote the printer driver onto a DOS disk and a DOS copier.
2. disassembled it
3. Found a bug
4. I added several statements to eliminate it.
5. assembled by ZXASM v.3.0. At the same time, I got an error that JR was jumping
very far away. I replaced the number with a smaller one, deciding that it was simple
disassembled letter in the driver decoding table.
6. wrote an object file.
7.in the doctor, the real commander changed the starting address in accordance with the address on
source file. (Start:0001)
8. I rewrote the new driver onto the isdos disk using isdos tools.
9. I deleted part of the driver in the isdos text editor, which for some reason
was inserted by the compiler, and represented
some commands in text form (?)
10. Renamed the driver file so that it has the extension
lpr
11. Pressed enter on this file to install the driver into memory. And here I have
isdos flies off tightly.
12. rebooted ISDOS, removed the old printer driver and just loaded it
written. But when you try to download the show.com program, the DOS IS is merged.HELP plz where did I make a mistake? Or better yet, compile me my corrected one
driver so that it works.
With the best, Dima Boyko.

It is more convenient to disassemble in iS-DOS. The program is called _A.com.

And the whole relocation table went crazy.

I just disassembled it VERY CROSSLY, it won’t work at all,
Why are you suffering, take IDA to the PC and it will do everything for you...

Or is it still a binary?

How did you even disassemble it in tr-dos?

That's how it should be - it's a feature!

Have you read anything about programming under iS-DOS?
Something is being sent to me on the ZX-FAQ server. The drivers are all residents,
and residents must have a relocation table at the end in order to load
resident to ANY memory ADDRESS. In tr-dos there is no assembly for you
will not create the table. So you disassemble again using the _A.com program,
then you edit edit.com, then you assemble as.com and then you link
resident with the /res key: link.com /res driver.obj.

Printer. In terms of capabilities, it is not inferior to the best. IMHO.
Do you want to print text or graphics? For graphics I can give you a rule program, Screen
It's called Manager. I have never seen such a rulez on any platform or under
one axis. This will definitely never happen at the PC.
Yes, tell me the ports of your interface, I’ll write you a driver at the same time.

What version of SM do you have? With what I have, I don’t have the opportunity
loading an external driver. Maybe you can upload it to ZXNET.UUE?
Bye!
