Hello, All
It would be interesting to see how the MASS of Spectrum users, programmers and
apparatchiks perceive this platform. We all here love the Spectrum quite
for obvious reasons. Many people not only launch retro toys, but also create
something new. This is driven not only by interest and habit, experience and respect for ZX.
And those who know the reasons for their creativity are here, obviously for the same reasons and
They will also support others.
This is not only a pressing question about payment, but also about interest...
By the way, a survey can help find out what contributes to the development of spktrum --
material compensation, which, however, will scare off some users; or
Freeware environment that slows down the emergence of new products?

This is a difficult question, but what is clear is that in addition to a few new toys a year,
issued by enthusiasts, we won’t get anything new on the Spectrum. Then
as high-quality emulators, they can breathe 'second life' into retro toys,
for example, new graphics (color per dot) in old games, without rewriting them
games, with the same engine, etc. etc.

Hello, CHRV
Lenon passed the stage. and even more so I don’t understand why you should buy it knowingly
useless software (emulators) if there are much better free analogues: win32
- Unreal (there has never been anything better and there never will be), Linux - zemu.
Titus why is the emulsion better than the emulated platform? this platform only speeds up
its extinction.
New high-quality graphics? Yes Lana already, the era of 2D has irrevocably sunk into oblivion.
the same small group will play these games with “new high-quality graphics”
finals of old games (and there are even fewer of them than spektrumists eager for development).
and drawing “high-quality” graphics will take a lot of time and effort.
Don't know. It doesn't bother me. no way.

I'm not talking about myself (for me the best from the best is Fallout 1 - 2, which

Absolutely false. The emulator is EVERYTHING worse than a real computer. Absolutely accurate
comparison with a rubber woman was given here by CHRV.
There is a real difference in the feeling of using a real machine and
emulating program.
An emulator in general, by and large, is not for “using programs”. Because no
such programs, the use of which on an emulator gives a greater effect on
compared with native similar programs of the platform on which the emulsion
launched.
What is the emulator for then? To develop programs for REAL computers
(when more computing power is needed, for example, for compilation), for storage(more precisely, organizations) collections of old programs (although, taking into account new
capabilities of the Spectrum - doubtful), for nostalgia ("Fathers, R Tape Loading
Error!" :v2_smile: ) and for the game demo.
And system application programs (commanders, players, databases,
text, music, graphic editors, archivers, add to taste...)
there is no point in running it on an emulator, while on a real machine you can’t do it without them
make do.
No?

Hello Sinus
I don’t want to argue with anyone - everyone has the right to their own position.
For me, Spectrum fans are divided into Spectrum hardware fans,
and for lovers of software (read creativity created on the Spectrum). I relate to
lovers of creativity, in particular a huge number of interesting games, partly
for nostalgic reasons, almost simply because they are cute and interesting.
For lovers of creativity, a normal, high-quality emulator is much more convenient;
in addition, storing disk images and games on a hard drive is much more convenient and
more reliable
As for the era of 2D games that has irrevocably sunk into oblivion, that’s also a matter of taste. me,
for example, they don’t touch modern 3D toys at all, they’ve already had enough in their
time, beee :v2_crazy:
I was once very happy with everything 3D, when it wasn’t enough, but now I’m not at all
touches. Just like anime:v2_wink2: When it was rare, in the beginning
The 90s were touching, but how did they start churning out a bunch of crazy cartoons on the same

Hello Titus
It’s too early to write off 2D.
For me, a clear example of this is Heroes of M&M 2 - the game is entirely drawn in 2D.
Yes, it's difficult. But what kind of graphics does it come out with? And with realistic
movements...
And now HMM4: the graphics are mostly (or maybe all, I don’t know) 3D. Yes, there's a lot of it
because in 3D it’s easier to get different phases of movements. Yes, she's smoother. But where
realism of movements? Where is the clarity? People, animals and all sorts of different things cannot wave like that
limbs, make such movements physically... Excessive realism fantasy
It also harms games, but can we leave physiology and anatomy as they are?
Can you give examples of 3D, where the hunt for pixels is not replaced by “blur”?
"smoothing" and other bells and whistles?
Telephone: yes, it’s for making calls. But I think his unity with the CPC is inevitable. All
anyway, you won’t be calling forever, and because there is nothing else to do, many people climb through his add-on.
functions. And games. ZX on a phone - why is the emulator on a PC worse? (the worse the real -
this is understandable)

Hello Lennon
incorrect comparison.
you come from the fact that the majority get a buzz from nostalgia (that’s why you
you offer the original specs as an object of desire).
I don't speak for everyone (although I think many here agree with me)...
For example, the 48th Spectrum with a rubber keyboard does not fit me. Well, no way.
For me, my passion for Spectrum began with the purchase of a disk drive.
and before that, I thought that I was a dandy - one fig.
and what difference does it make if you're just talking?
the dandy gams will be better ;)
but if a person is engaged in CREATIVITY, then a certain strong
attraction.
But creativity is different for everyone.
for you, I think creativity is remembering and going through old turmoil,
For me creativity is to try to cram something into 128kb and 3 mHz
extraordinary
and for CHRV, probably sit with a soldering iron over a torn board of some kind
Atm-Turbo-8 with 32768 colors ;)
that's all the difference.
and of course, nostalgia is different for everyone.
For some, Spectrum is associated with dizzy,
but for me Spectrum is, first of all, coils of wires, dangling boards
and a continuous creative state of mind - like I soldered it all myself, it
works! You can already enjoy the programs.
in fact, active debate about which is better, speck or iron, has been going on for years
something like '98. And they still can’t come to a consensus. For me, emulators are a priceless waste of time (it’s even somehow strange ;) ;) - who
knows, he will understand).
Why drive yourself into artificial boundaries and limitations with a powerful machine? this is
some kind of masachism? it’s like “I have a cool petse, but I’ll use a specialist
emulsion and I’ll drag along”... well, to each his own.

Hello TomCaT
I probably wouldn’t mind helping to set up General Sound’s production.
Why GS? - you ask :) But because IDE controllers already exist;
buy turbo sounds, pal coders, PC mouse and keyboard controllers too
maybe even lazy now. But GS is some kind of rarity, and
completely undeservedly by many as iron to speck unrecognized :(, but this
only from ignorance of the subject.
I even thought about just talking to the current copyright holder for GS, and
sponsor the production of several printed circuit boards under the original
element base.
I went shopping, now you can buy almost all the microcircuits that are available
in GS (I didn’t find TM8 and I don’t know for sure about memory).
Perhaps I am a little conservative, but look, for example, at the current
Nemo IDE controller, all the elements are there, but the most important thing is that
it exists in nature!! (for which obscenely huge respect to Roman Chunin!
:)), and in the flea market section there are no topics like “I’ll buy Nemo IDE”;... but about GS
there are plenty of messages there.
Of course, you can remake everything using a modern element base, rethink it according to
new... but who will do it? When? and how long will everyone have to wait?
and most importantly - will such an idea be brought to completion?!
Give General Sound to the masses!!
PS; AND; I also wish success to the developers of the new SMUC!PPS; Sori,; that he spoke not in accordance with the section. :) it hurts...
