copiers
ZXNet echo conference «zxnet.soft»
From Felix Knajzev → To Arseniy Astapenko 23 May 1999
Greetings, O venerable Arseniy!
Somehow [Friday 21 May 1999] at [09:40:14] there was a conversation between Arseniy
Astapenko and All.
They discussed the topic "copiers".
Let's continue what we started...
AA> What Spectrum copiers of protected floppy disks
AA> are in stock?
1. "McDonald_v2.0" - supports copying tracks from
sectors that have the same numbers.
2. "FmCopier_v3.1" - can emulate sectors #F5, #F6, #F7.
+BAD sectors. The feature of the previous copier is not supported. :(
3. Subject written by Dmitry Lomov. But let him talk about him
he'll tell you himself. ;)
4. Relatively simple protections (non-standard formats) can
copy HC_v4.00 (Honey_Commander).
Best regards, Felix.

and OmegaCopy 1.40? IMHO it's all there...
A year ago I copied them a PC disk on 5.25, and the packaging of various PC programs
purchased for this purpose - I did not copy it...
Best regards, Evgeniy aka EVP.

ancient feces :-)
understands identical sectors, copies bare headings, nonsense in the number field
the tracks are not pressed, the arrangement of sectors (inter-sector intervals) is rough
observes, it seems to catch the intersection of the sector with the index. f5, f6 and f7, for
due to its antiquity, it does not see.
compared to MacDonald, exceptionally fast.
It contains a quick test of the number of tracks in a drive... that seems to be it.
on the turbo VG it may work crookedly, since at the beginning it copies exactly
measures the rotation speed, tied to the positioning time (or
something like that). Now I use it to align disk drives - it
works quickly, draws and doesn’t ask unnecessary questions, you just need a match in the enter
paste ;)
All the best.
Dmitry.

Get Msg, Felix!
29 May 99 02:05, Felix Knajzev reported by Kirill Frolov about {copiers}:
KF>> knew how to copy cross-sector garbage. And then there is the Amiga...
FK> Amiga (1200) could not copy primitive protection for ZX_FORMAT#5. :)
So, that defense by a specialist was made against the Amiga.. They used the fact that
Amiga cannot copy a track longer than a certain length..
