From Valerij Kozhevnikoff To All 23 May 2003

Hello, All! I installed the subject and immediately had questions. 1. Why is the size of the console window 80x300, and changing it to the usual ones? goldeda 80x30 gives nothing? The scrollbar disappears, but when you press the cursor goes off the screen, and the list doesn’t even think about moving. 2. The colors in the console are ugly. And fonts too. Now I’m writing this under WinME - The eye is pleased with the 12x20 trutype with anti-aliasing. 3. T-soap - see paragraph 1 and paragraph 2. And a plus to this is the launch of the usual WinME batch file shows a hanging window with no clear title. There was something about VDM there (virtual DOS machine?). This is probably how it reacts to fast food. 4. Why did the subject slow down so much when you first connected to the Internet? Went to Yandex, looked in my mailbox... I looked at the statistics: in ~10 minutes from 900 KB went to me, 130 KB came to me. What is this? Uncle Billy info about the new user went? ps: contrary to expectations, it consumes little processor resources. Quite comparable with W98SE and WinME. I didn't feel any difference. The only negative is the expense memory. But this is probably due to the 50 MB disk cache. The core weighs only ~18 MB. On a freshly loaded car, about 30 MB is immediately occupied by the kernel/services and ~50 MB under the system cache. Probably disk. ~40 MB free. It remains to find a way reduce the cache to an acceptable size, because with my 128 MB of memory this wasteful. WBR, Jason./*e-mail: jason2000(scary dog)yandex.ru ICQ: 62235830*/ /np:/ *silence*
