Hello, All
It seems to me that at the moment one of the best platforms for emulation
Spectrum can be called NDS. The top screen size (256x192) is perfect
to emulate the Spectrum screen, and the bottom screen (which is also a touch screen)
ideal for emulating a keyboard that can be pressed using
stylus. As for the development environment, there is currently
several options. The best of them, in my opinion, is DS-X (www.ds-x.com).
I plan to add my own emulator for NDS, based on which I want
put an unfinished version for the previous platform from Nintendo - GameBoy
Advance. I didn't finish it because... GBA screen size is 240x160pixels and
Using hardware scaling, the image is not very good...
So, if anyone is interested in this topic, then write, I can provide
Additional information and documentation on NDS.

used DS no more than $100 + flash cartridge from $50 to $120... I recommend DS-X,
because it has a built-in USB port and can not be disconnected from the computer, which speeds up
debugging programs...

minimum? software is free, hardware - flash card costing from $50-100 to
emphasis - what DS-nicks use who don’t want to spend money on branded toys

Hello, max_iwamoto
Having used speccyDS (http://speccyds.wordpress.com/) I agree 100% -- nds
Perfect for Spectrum emulators.
Moreover, you can easily make replaceable keyboard layouts for the touchscreen, so that
convenience of typing in Russian, etc. - then zx can also be replaced with nds and pda can be replaced
:)
I’m also toying with the idea of writing an emulsion using SDL, which seems to have been ported to
dsku

I agree 100%. I had a similar thought, but about drawing for the Spectrum
via DS (since I’m not a coder and I don’t write emulators :). DS fits perfectly
for the graphic editor: the lower screen is a magnifying glass, the upper screen is 100% zoom.
But it’s difficult with native editors for DS, especially with a magnifying glass. But even under
BGE/EDP will probably work with an emulator if the mouse is emulated with a stylus, and on
The top screen shows the second Spectrum screen. True, I didn’t pick EDP/BGE on
the subject of what they store on the second video page, but it seems to me that how
once the picture itself, because that would be the most logical.

The topic is interesting, and has been for quite some time. True, the idea was not to program the emulsion, but in
the iron will hit, but the iron is a little expensive for such tricks. And what about the screen?
256*192, this is probably the first thing that catches your eye - magic numbers;) Actually
question, where can I get good documentation (internal software architecture,
Find hardware interfaces) and development tools for this gaming platform?

there are two of them, this one and speccyDS. both emulate Spectrum-48 with loading programs only from
snapshots.
