I really want to watch the Spectrum in the window. Why and
I purchased a video card. Alas, the cheapest
of those on sale (of those that VIVO - video in video out)...
First, about the board itself. Traces of flux, not very smooth soldering,
a lot of space for installing some parts... Small radiator
-- yeah, 3D, and no fan. It's getting hot - you can't hold your finger down.
But it’s not buggy, it seems. However, I don’t have 3D anything.
A disc is included in the kit. You can install firewood, catalyst,
all sorts of useless software. I don’t know why a catalyst is needed.
A couple of stupid menus and stupid pictures. Firewood is installed and working,
You can watch it on TV, unreal speccy can also be watched on TV --
great.
The problems begin when viewing backwards. From TV
or Spectrum into the monitor. Firstly, there is no software included for this.
Having rummaged through fresh meat I found: Virtual Dub, Virtual VCR, Media player
classic.
The first was virtual dub. I launch the capture, select ATI Rage
something there (if there is Microsoft WDM). I choose seedlings, preview.
And I have 5..14 frames per second. The CPU load depends on the OS and is
from 50 to 100%. But the overlay is better. CPU load is small and
there is a picture. At the same time, at the top of the screen there is video garbage (about the size
with taskbar)! :-( And it only works in Win2000. In 2003 - onlypreview, and overlays - a black screen. Virtual VCR works similarly
preview modes But the classic media player is better, you can watch it,
but the CPU load is large.
As for the Spectrum, it must be said that SYNCHRONIZATION IS GONE.
But not always, but depending on the color system (selected in the menu).
If you use it, it will always go astray. If HTSC or PAL - depends on the specific
modifications. And saturation/brightness also depends greatly. Here's the coder
RGB->PAL no - haven't tried it. And the mismatch in the cable is very noticeable -
shadow of the image, blurred. It is not known whether this is due to the Spectrum or
cards, I'm afraid it's because of the card. It's perfect on TV. A cable
only 1.5 meters. :-(
But that's half the trouble. The trouble started when I replaced ECC1868 with
Audigy sound blaster (ESS does not work in Win2003!). With preview/overlay
video sound blaster stutters wildly!!! :-( Tried changing interrupts
for sound blaster and video card. In any position - he will stutter! :-(
And what’s interesting is that he stutters briefly and wheezes quickly. And when
stutters (Windows, multimedia... - bullshit!) due to switching
video modes, etc. -- for 0.5 seconds somewhere, and sometimes it goes in cycles.
Just the size of the buffer. And here it’s very brief, but continuous.
Maybe not interruptions? Maybe the tires are missing? Alas, my mother
very bad - BX440. But is it really possible to pump about 25MByte/sec?problem for AGP? :-/ I actually don’t understand - this video is in the trash
immediately take it and splurge on a more expensive one or sound? Video soon.
But who said that they are more expensive, except for professional ones (pinaccle)
better? Avermedia is definitely crap. But there is no choice. :-(
And also with an eye on Linux. All in wonder is also ATI.

In 2003, hardware acceleration and overlay were prohibited by default. Dig into
Windows settings.
