Hello, All! Returning to the topic: ================== Start of file: Windows Clipboard ================== In the footsteps of Dr. Tom: 1.2 GHz Athlon MP without fan - Lone @ 17:12 Our colleagues from the OCWorkBench website decided to test a 1.2 GHz processor Athlon MP is similar to the well-known experience on Dr. Pabst's website. Only this time the testers went a little further and tested three modes: removal cooler with radiator from the processor at full load (Quake III game), launch PC without a CPU cooler and stopping the cooler without removing the radiator (same game Quake III). The data from the experiment was filmed and posted here in the form of a video. Those who are unable to download the 9.44 MB video can trust me per word. :-) So, the results: ° Removing the cooler from the processor at full load (Quake III game) - via For 2 - 3 seconds the system simply freezes, with no consequences for the processor. For reliability, the experiment was repeated twice. ° Starting a PC without a cooler on the processor - the system started (it was even the Compaq logo is visible) and then froze, nothing happened to the processor. ° Stopping the cooler without removing the radiator (the same Quake III game) - system "stuck" only after 9 (nine) minutes! Again, without any consequences for processor performance. Please note: all three tests simulated real life situations -a fallen off or burnt out cooler. It will be good if AMD can provide in the future the same safe mode for all processors of its production... PS The music in the video is also good, especially when the roar of the guitar gives way to a funeral one theme :-) Source: OCWorkbench ===================== End of Windows Clipboard ====================== Happy connections.
