RealSpectrum 0.97.31

From Vlad Semchenko To All 31 October 2006

Hello Almaz Although the current version is already v0.97.36, I think it’s not important for the topic. The annotation for the emulator says “Supports real TR-DOS disks under WinXP !!!!". How does it support them? What is needed for this? In the DOS version it says "physical device", but here it seems not (I quote from the words of a person, on a working machine (AMD Athlon XP Barton 1800MHz) can’t start any of the versions, neither P nor K).

Hello spensor And one more question - what is known about the emulator? Will there be new versions? Who knows anything about Stafano's plans?

Hello spensor spe> on the working machine (AMD Athlon XP Barton 1800MHz) cannot be launched spe> none of the versions succeed, neither P nor K). I have the same problem...

Hello John North Can anyone say anything about the essence of the questions?

Hello, Alexandr Medvedev Ale> Listen and remember... So THANK YOU! Ale> The authors have already promised to stop developing RealSpectrum and Ale> release RealX, as they say the most sophisticated emulsion. Exactly, exactly, I heard about this, but I forgot the name. The truth is already a year old 2, minimum, but no results are visible. Anyone who met Stefano, can you tell me something? add?

Hello spensor spe> Can anyone say anything about the essence of the questions? Listen and remember: 1. Install the emulsion 2. Install rom files 3. Install the FDRAW driver 4. Install the update (Latest development) necessary to work with real disks 5. Launch the emulsion 6. IMMEDIATELY press Alt+F6 in the realdisk drive line and change the drive (A or B) left and right keys, and drive type spacebar 7. Press F6 and select the emulated disk and the real disk drive The most important thing is to configure step 6; this must be done every time you start the emulator. The authors have already promised to stop developing RealSoectrum and release RealX, as they say, is the most sophisticated emulsion.

Hello, Alexandr Medvedev Ale> 3. Install the FDRAW driver I spent a long time looking for what it was, but it turned out that there was a mistake in the name - FDRAWCMD driver; http://www.ramsoft.bbk.org/emul/FdInstall.exe; And another question - under Win98 it is also possible to work with a real disk, To do this, you need to install or configure something, or it should be without updates work? For some reason it didn't work out for me...

From Vlad Semchenko To All 14 November 2006

Hello, Alexandr Medvedev Ale> This is the same thing. Google doesn't think so :) Ale> The Win32 version in Win98 will not work with disks - there is no driver for it Ale> this OS. You can try the DOS version. That's what I use. How realistic and difficult is it to write the required driver?

From Alexander Medvedev To All 14 November 2006

Hello spensor spe> How realistic and difficult is it to write the required driver? You must have experience in writing drivers for Win98. As far as I understand, the driver for WinNT is written based on the source text standard driver, just added advanced functions for disk access at a low level.

Hello sien24 sie> viskakivaet nadpis DISK Error maximum sto on delaet eto raskrutivaet sie> motor na diskovode pri komande load da i tolko pervij raz, sie> stitivat daze na pitaetsa... sie> What else needs to be configured in this emulator for it to start working with sie> with a real 5.25 floppy drive and real ZX floppies? Most likely, this is an ordinary canoe with controllers (the PC controller doesn’t get along well with disks formatted on zx). you can seal the index hole, sometimes it helps; but it’s better to format the disk on PC and copy the information to it by means of zx. although, if it doesn’t read anything permanently, the BIOS settings are crooked or the adjustment failed.
