Hello, CityAceE
I also needed to decipher the sound from the cassette port, but somehow no program
did not work with an ideal signal.
Then I recorded wav 44100 8 bit mono. And I wrote my own program for
interpretations. It's very simple - it makes a purely binary file, but that's how it was for me
necessary. If anyone needs it, I'll share it.

Hello Orionsoft
hey wake up!
what SoundForge.
One program, Spectrum Tape Loader, takes cassettes perfectly, take them to
World of Spectrum, UTILITIES section.
It even picks up through a microphone and no problems!

Hello, hi_soft
Does anyone have the R-Type game with loading when in the upper right corner
is the rectangle blinking?
If you have it, please post it somewhere.

Hello BYTEMAN
Thanks to CityAceE for researching this issue.
After reading this discussion, I wanted to transfer my collection to TZX
tape games, which I have stored since the early 1990s, especially since
some cassettes have already begun to deteriorate.
However, the CityAceE way of processing a WAV file is unfortunately not universal: even on
one cassette may contain recordings that require individual selection of “engines”
equalizer. This forced me to find my own way. I suspect that he doesn't either
is universal, but I’ll still tell you about it.
I start by making a mono recording in the same Nero Wave Editor with a frequency
sampling 44.1 kHz (for some reason, if I select a frequency of 32 kHz, I have an editor
hangs after recording starts).
Next, I mark the entire file, and, varying only the “sliders” of the equalizer “300” and
“1000” in the range of 1...14 dB (the rest are at zero), I try to ensure that
The WAV file was recognized without errors by the MAKETZX program (all "Bandwidth" engines
I have them in the 3 dB position). As a rule, use other "engines"
no need to. Sometimes it takes a long time and smoothly to select values, but how
My experience has shown that ultimately any correctly read WAV file succeeds
transform it to the desired form - it would be enough to be stubborn. :)
Interestingly, the RealSpectrum emulator can load the program directly from
WAV file, and, as a rule, understands it perfectly without preliminaryprocessing.
I am attaching two screenshots with the successful results of the MAKETZX program.
To date, I have managed to completely convert several
cassettes from my collection.
The result of the work is presented on the page http://mix.wol.bz/games/tzxgames.htm,
which will be updated as this case progresses.
I also include several games with non-standard tape loaders that
are not yet presented on my above mentioned page.

STL is a cool thing, I used it to transfer games from the player (they are even in real
read with errors)

Hello Grand
damn, you guys are perverts :).
Why suffer so much?
Here's a program that will transfer any cassettes to Taps.
no need to change anything, even the default settings are suitable for most
cases.
but for some particularly stubborn downloads you have to check the Max first box.
after trying THIS one! prog you will forget about other translators from cassettes!

I’ll add that by manually editing wav ;) you can “get out” the most difficult cases...

Hello ZEman
ZEm> Why suffer so much?
In fact, it's not all that difficult... :)
Otherwise, it is unlikely that so many programs could be converted. :)

Obviously, MakeTZX makes them so with a call without keys (see my screenshots in
previous message). This is bad? How can I change this?

Hello Grand
you can transfer the utilities to TAP and this TAP back to TZX, the speed will be
normal and without pauses between blocks like in some games
but in general this is not critical

Hello, goodboy
I just don’t understand why go back to TZX?
TAP is much better, it's cassette loading just like the original.
none of those stupid speedblocks.

Each of these formats has its advantages.
TZX, for example, reproduces the physical tape format as accurately as possible; him

and TAP, maybe they don’t understand.
all emulators understand TAP files.
TZX is just an addition to TAP that includes protection.

Hello ZEman
if the emulator sees that a TAR is being slipped to it, an interception is set at 1378, usually data
are substituted instantly, but there are a lot of golimo hacked games,
You don’t have to look far for examples Shaolin road in the game section. Always more enjoyable

Hello Grand
Gra> Is there any description for it?
what is there to describe?
connect the tape recorder to the computer.
turn on the program and press the Play button on the tape recorder.
everything, the program does the rest itself.
sometimes, if it doesn’t read well, you can change the settings:
in Option
Max First - check the box, it often helps.
and turn on/off Middle vals and Extern vals.
but in most cases the program works as it should, it even reads old entries
excellent.
Moreover, I tried to record games with this program through a REGULAR MICROPHONE,
catches and records without problems.
P.S.
do not download version 2.0 of the program
Something they screwed up there and the program became too sensitive.

Hello ZEman
oh yeah, I forgot...
The downloaded files are displayed in the window.
if they are loaded with errors there will be some kind of error instead of the block name, just
Rewind the film and repeat loading.
After the download is complete, select the required blocks and click Save as..
Be sure to add ".tap" to the end of the name, otherwise you will end up with an unnamed file.
ALL! :)
