There are a lot of cries from users in the forums about a similar message Windows 2003 (XP)
when changing iron. Microsoft also writes. It says that solution does not exist.
I know, they clone (for mass installations) the 2000 version. XP also successful?
WHAT is being done in this case, why then pci.sys does not come out? Reinstallation
This, in the case of bual boot, is not a solution. Maybe roll back to 2000

Rolling back to 2000 mainly frightens users with the fact that “XP is more beautiful” and “knows
more devices." Those. the user needs all sorts of unnecessary baubles and installation with
one disk. You have to constantly deliver firewood to Win2k. Personally I think

As for cloning, there is the following opinion. When XP first came out
Most of the time I was busy assembling new computers and installing windows on them.
Mostly I installed Win2k then because everything was already known and
verified. When assembling exactly identical computers, there are no problems with
cloning did not occur. When I was forced to give everyone XP, I alsosuccessfully cloned it on the same hardware. When trying to do this on another
hardware (another motherboard is especially critical) it is very rare when at least something
it worked. Usually XP went into deep sleep with the reinstallation of all the firewood, to which
It took more time than installing from scratch. Tested by personal experience
that Win2k crashes just as well when changing the motherboard, for example, like WinXP.

In short - XP sucks at cloning (between different computers)?
Because W2k is still cloned, according to some
comrades. Is this a new method of copy protection, or what?
Why doesn't Linux break like this?

I collected. Typically, the assembly and configuration process occurred in parallel, because on
assembling the box from scratch (with unpacking all the boxes and screwing them onto all the necessary

To do this, simply create a separate hardware profile (if for
vmware) or all specific drivers are removed. In any case it
loading. And W2k3, by the way, can handle any video card. Via VESA or something.

Why, one might ask, is it possible, as a last resort, to boot from
live CD and write a more suitable kernel there. For Windows too
you can, I'm sure. The question is how.

I’ll tell you more - most likely they’ll just copy Windows there, not even
ghostom. although we never did. ghost was used only in case of serial
machines with absolutely identical hardware.
but what does this have to do with it? Naturally, you have to install Windows yourself. and computer

I have never encountered pci.sys specifically. However, I think there may be a glitch
connected to external devices. I had one case when the computer did not boot
with SB Live inserted. You take out the card and it loads; you insert it and it doesn’t load.
Cleaning out the wood for SB Live helped. Those. removed the firewood, inserted the card,
supplied firewood. Therefore, you should always experiment. For example, you load into
save mode, clear the wood of pci devices, reboot and rearrange
firewood again.

You'll be tempted to move every window. We have to figure out that the windows are like that
manage to open that the lower part or even from the screen
falls out or is blocked by the panel with the "Start" button - for users
this is a problem. :-/ Why, for example, fvwm places windows normally,
it can be pulled into the corners, maybe from top to bottom, but nothing beyond
For some reason the screen does not fall out? :-(
