Press RESET immediately, All! Windows NT 4.0 workstation, service pack 6a + latest ie. When loading, there are 666 errors in the logs, all connected to the network. The network itself, of course, doesn't work, nothing network works at all. In "network properties" - empty everywhere. It is impossible to install anything, there are many error messages like such: “The Service registry key already exists”, “The registry key was not found Network Cards", "it is impossible to delete Name Service Provider"... And earlier everything was buggy there too, but somehow something worked, the last time before the IE upgrade and rolling some kind of fix pack, then it is unknown. I tried to do an “upgrade”, I was told to demolish and replace the “SYSTEM” partition registry After that, nothing changed (strange). In the process of upgrading there were a lot of files “not installed during the previous installation”, this apparently those that were replaced by fixpacks. I didn't change them, because there was nothing else I don’t have fixpack 6a, but IE is old and something is missing at all. Tried it look for sections in the registry whose names appeared in error messages -- there are none at all (I used both regedt32 and regedit). The questions are as always: who is to blame and what to do? Demolish everything and reinstalling all the software in a row is not an option, if only because installing there is nothing and you need to configure it later. * Originally in dragon_local *Crossposted in ZXNET.PC

Everything is glitching and falling apart before our eyes... I tried to slip SYSTEM from another, freshly installed Windows -- it starts, but the disks get confused, all sorts of errors pop up everywhere. The network speaks not installed and everything hangs afterwards. Well, what can you do with it? There is probably some way to fix bugs in registry? * Originally in dragon_local *Crossposted in ZXNET.PC
