Greetings, All!
I took out an old "four" from under the bed and stuck it in it.
PCI Compex ReadyLink Express 10/100 network card on a Realtek chip.
I plugged exactly the same network device into a more modern computer.
After much manipulation, the network finally started working, but
I'm confused by the speed - according to Total Commander it's not
exceeds 700 kb/s when reading from a slow computer and 20 kb/s when
records. In the network settings I set it to 100 Mbit
Full Mode. The indicators on the network box indicate that the network
works like 100 megabit. Native diagnostic utility too
shows that the network is 100 megabits and all tests pass without
errors. Maybe the weak processor (AMD486DX4-120) can’t handle much
speed? Or is it that the hard drive on a weak computer is not
does it work in DMA mode? (the screw itself supports UDMA, but no
checkboxes in the hard drive properties where you can install DMA).
The weak one is Vyn95OSR2, the strong one is Vyn98SE.
I know for sure that the network cables and cord are in order, because on
the other day we ran these network devices on fast computers and the speed was
awesome.
Now the question is how to enable DMA and how to increase speed
networks?

This means your network really works at 100 MB.
And what Totalnik shows is the data transfer speed. which will
equal to or less than the speed of the slowest device in the chain.

Try installing a RAM disk driver on a slow machine and measure the speed
reception/transmission when writing/reading from it (should be higher).
Well, how to enable DMA - just read the documentation for the motherboard first and
bios IMHO you need to enable it in the BIOS.
There is also an assumption that you will not be able to do this. For
An old/slow motherboard may not be able to work with a new/fast screw.
I'm not talking about UDMA.

Have you checked whether it was transmitted or not? Did the lights on the network devices blink?
And how exactly did you copy it to nul?

No. There is a program that creates a RAM disk in Windows. And at the end
work can save the RAM disk image to a file. And the next time you start

Maybe after activation you should have gone into the Windows disk properties and allowed
DMA?
There are a lot of options...
