Linux supported PCI video-adapter with TV-receiver

From Kirill Frolov To All 31 December 2004

Press RESET immediately, All! Recommend a PCI or AGP video adapter that is moderately lousy TV receiver, TV output, but most importantly - works well in Linux. Even if it’s outdated and not fashionable, and without 3D.

From Aleksandr Majorov To Kirill Frolov 3 January 2005

Hello Kirill! I am responding to your letter dated December 31, 2004, then written by Kirill Frolov to All, and then it was 18:43:18. KF> Recommend a PCI, or AGP, video adapter with an average rating KF> lousy TV receiver, TV output, but most importantly - good KF> running on Linux. KF> Even if it’s outdated and not fashionable, and without 3D. Do you need a video card with a built-in TV tuner? I doubt there are any. And so... Look at any video card with an output to a TV. And a separate TV tuner. It’s not worth taking an external TV tuner (with a USB connection), there are few possibilities. And from the internal ones - IMHO you can take any, they are all more or less the same. I now have AverMedia TV Studio 203. Naturally, there is no firewood for Linux on the included disk, but _it seems_ I I heard something about support for the BT-878 chip in Linux. And this tuner is on this read and built. Now there is a better AverMedia TV Studio 303. If the 203 has an 8-bit DAC, then the 303 is already 10-bit, that is, the picture quality is better. But there's already quite there is another chip. All the best, Alexander.

Maybe there is an alternative software, but I wasn't interested. But the picture is really sweet :) Apparently limited bandwidth of the RCA connection specifically filters interference.
