Don't slaughter the cash cow that lays golden eggs, All...!
Does anyone have any idea what higher motives the portal is for?
Does Lenta.Ru accept requests for images on port 8000?
Because of this “feature” you have to create a firewall on the NAT server
a special rule dedicated exclusively to the subject,
or force all internal network users
read subject news without photos. A subject advertisement
laid out in a normal way! Logic - hell!

It's simple. On port 80 there is an Apache, which is obliged to serve (and, moreover,
quickly) the complex engine of this site. Scripts should give more
performance at the expense of expended resources - in this case memory.
One process apache + mod_perl + all necessary modules and libraries weighs
several megabytes (sometimes tens). That’s why the banners come from the same place -
the pictures are inserted by scripts. The second Apache gives away simple pictures
hanging on port 8000. It is not overloaded with anything, so the processes weigh a couple
hundreds of kilobytes. And the only thing he does is that he transfers files from the screw.
