Homemade infrared port

You take an infrared asynchronous transceiver TFDS4500, a couple of containers and a couple of quick notes. Try looking for the diagram at http://cxem.net/ or just google the key "DIY IrDA" But most motherboards have a port for IrDA, but not so much on older ones. Or even combined with a COM port.
