Eh, a user connected to the Internet would try to not be in the know :) .
Theoretically, 2 security updates are required - KB823980
and KB835732, it is practically recommended to constantly follow and read
MSxx-xx newsletters and drive traffic from Microsoft Download Center :) .

Almost all patches are related to network services or IE. From the first group
The firewall from the second Opera/Mozilla helps. There is also rubbish called
outlook. TheBat will help here!. In general, my view on the problems of vulnerability is this.
The fewer MS products on your computer, the more secure the system. ;) Therefore, residents
Under Windows you only need Windows itself from ms. Well, maybe also MS Office. But
if you are not involved in the coolest layout of tricky documents in winword and there are
system has ~40Mb of free memory, then you can safely use OpenOffice. ;)

I think exactly the opposite. XP at work crashed within a month and a half.
Win2k has been running for almost a year now and is still not working. There is not even a hint that
glitch. Both Pro.

Hmm... Strange... I had the same situation at home, but with accuracy
on the contrary. Maybe it all depends on how the computer is used and what it is used for?

This is true, but the firewall may “fall” :-)), and the user may not
not noticed or not controlled. Therefore, IMHO :-), install patches
still follows.
Tip "for the dishes" :) : in the firewall service settings, set
restore immediately, restore immediately, reboot
computer.

A good firewall doesn't crash :)

You should not use products that cannot be patched. I'm talking about IE.
It must be killed at the root. imho.

Tiny doesn't have that. But as far as I know, it displays windows that can be closed
(you close one and a new one immediately opens) if you make mistakes in your work, i.e.
when it cannot start correctly. Therefore, what kind of user would be
inattentive, he will definitely notice this. Some more firewalls when disabled
block all traffic, i.e. the bytes will not flow and the infection will still not
will pass.
