1400mhz+256mb vs 1050mhz+416mb

Hello All! Problem. There are dimms pc100 32 and 128mb, and pc133 256... Motherboard 7aja2, athlone 1400/266. If the processor runs on bus 266, the pc100 memory is buggy even during the test before launch... There is a DRAM timing option in the BIOS, but with a 266 MHz processor bus it does not work - there You can select one single item - host clock. And with a 200 processor bus it works, you can set host clock, host clock +33Mhz, and, most importantly interesting - host clock -33Mhz. If the processor has a 200 bus, then 1400 becomes 1050, but you want to use the processor for 100% and not 75%. I also don’t want to leave only 256MB instead of 416. What to do? Why doesn't DRAM timing work on a 266 bus? An idea arose - on the 100 bus (i.e. 200) in the overclocking menu, overclock it to 133 (133bus/33pci/spread_off), and then specify -33 in DRAM timing. Did. But then When starting, the computer simply does not start at all. I had to reset cmos. Any other ideas? Best regards, Evgeniy.
