From Eugene Palenock → To Sergey Kovinov 31 May 2000
Hello Sergey!
31 May 00 09:07, Sergey Kovinov -> Eugene Palenock:
EP>> I will ask all regions to answer me at 2:5020/2065, 50095468@mail.ru
SK> Maybe after this event we can build a map of the regions, i.e. who is with whom and
SK> which channel is connected?
This is exactly what it is for.
SK> Threat, and in general can still abandon the star-shaped network structure
SK> (most people feel what happened with 95/0 right now)
With star routing, everything moves quickly, but however, this is if it’s over IP...
Well, 95/0 - there were simply huge routing inconsistencies.
SK> And switch to a more distributed circulation of mail, i.e. to everyone
SK> region should connect not with one uplink, but with 3-4.
Hub routing is called...
SK> This will allow you to find out if a link fails
SK> reasons for downlinks through backup channels. This will of course lead
SK> to increase outgoing traffic by 3-4 times, respectively, but
SK> will significantly unload 95/0, because he won't have to send this one
SK> information for all regions.
In theory - yes. But in practice, there are at least 3 _hosts_ who do not know how toeven add some FTrack.
And also - if people cannot agree on routing now, then what will happen then?!
Best regards, Evgeniy.
From Sergey Kovinov → To Eugene Palenock 1 June 2000
Hello, Eugene.
I once wrote to Eugene Palenock to Sergey Kovinov, and I decided to drop a couple
lines:
EP> With star routing, everything moves quickly, but this is only possible
EP> IP...
Yes, but if the central node falls, the network is completely disrupted.
SK>> And switch to a more distributed circulation of mail, i.e. to everyone
EP> Hub routing is called...
Exactly
SK>> This will allow you to find out if a link fails
SK>> reasons for downlinks through backup channels. This will of course lead
EP> In theory, yes. But in practice, there are at least 3 _hosts_ that do not
EP> they can even attach some kind of FTrack.
EP> And one more thing - if people cannot agree on routing now, then what will happen
EP> then ?!
And I’m not asking everyone to switch to this system, I just want them to
all regions were marked (or at least all nodes participating in the internetwork
routing) (It’s true that this is happening now, but earlier Ivanov cut off some of those.
information)
This will allow those who want to organize hub routing without having to arrange a duplex. And
configure netmail routing more flexibly.
That's all. /Sergey/ []With a large carriage of regards and vicious people.
