standard font for ascii on Spectrum

ZXNet echo conference «zx.grafix»

From Alexander Trofimchuk To All 16 January 2003

─── all the subject question has been tormenting me for a long time, because until now all the questions were looked through in different viewers, which spoiled the impression, because... The font was different everywhere. many tasks of the work were actually done on PC, and there is a more or less standard font exists, but when transferred to Spec... and after thinking in my spare time, I decided that this can no longer be done.... and made a new one font. I offer it to you - to implement it in the programs that you do you use (text editors, email editors, commanders, etc.) I Of course, I don’t suggest everyone completely switch to this standard - because... this font Not everyone will find it readable. but for fans of ascii-art it will be a good addition to their programs. if you saw Gothiq #1, you might notice how the asci look there. and finally, I advise those who do at least something else on Spec to use this font for your programs, if they are somehow related to viewing/output text or ascii-art all for the standard in askia art!!! ps/ for subscribers to zx.grafix, I advise you to implement this font in Lara.

─── Evgeny ─── Goljakov∙Trofimchuk EG>>> At least describe what the differences are AT>> what? EG> Subzha if it’s from the standard Spekovsky one, then please: the subject has more characters of varying sizes (this helps with smoothing horizontal lines), symbols (some of them) take up less space in the matrix (or vice versa - more) (this enriches shading and makes it more standard across platforms), shape characters is more suitable for specific roundings that were not previously available on Speck. the only drawback to the font is that it looks bad now with old school asks (due to the change in slash and backslash).
