Since there is such little traffic in the echo, I’m leaving my collection of subjects:

_Light and Shadows_
Here are some examples that are useful when creating various effects in
Photoshop.
Step 1.
We start with a simple drawing in a separate layer. The background of the picture is white.
Step 2.
Copy the original level. Apply Gaussian Blur (with parameter 3) to the bottom
level. We get the following picture.
Step 3.
An interesting effect is obtained by inverting ( Ctrl+I ) the top level.
Step 4.
To get a similar picture, you need to invert the top level again. And
set the Color Burn attribute for the top level.
Step 5.
A similar image can be obtained by taking the picture obtained in step 3.
And set the Dissolve attribute for the lower (blurry) level.
Step 6.
Now let's take the image obtained in the previous step and set the attribute
Exclusion. As a result, we get the following effect.
Here I tried to show some simple examples to quickly get
interesting effects using pure Photoshop. Without using any
additional funds. There is quite a wide field for experimentation here.
You can, for example, in step 2 move the top layer - you get something like a shadow. For
for a more believable shadow effect, you can also apply Motion Blur to the bottomlayer. You can (again returning to step 1) make a weaker Gaussian Blur,
then duplicate the blurred level. And invert it. With different
the displacement of blurred levels relative to the upper (unblurred) level can be
get an embossed effect. This is especially noticeable on gray or sand
background.

Hello Alexander.
Fri 11 Apr 02 Alexander Trofimchuk -> All:
HELP!
I'm still confused about this _feature_ of Photoshop:
Free transformation which has
a point called the center of transformation.
By moving it, we shift the center of transformation, i.e. we do
its not linear.
I tried it in 5.5 and 7.0, however, IT DOES NOT WORK!
Draw a checkered field and move the feature, the density of the lines
in each direction will be the same, i.e. changed linearly!
I was told it works in 6.0, please check it.
Thank you for your attention.
