Hello, EARL
1. Vu 3d
2. Editor from Rage, used to create Awaken (I don’t remember the name)
I believe that there is no need to create a 3D editor. If you need something
quickly model, it’s easier to do it in 3ds max and convert it to spec, in
required format.
Another thing, some universal and open 3D engine could be useful
for creating demos and games.
This is my opinion.

Hello, All
I recently started developing 3D applications without using any
graphic libraries (OpenGL, DirectX), that is, in other words, development
own library, in which calculations are performed on the CPU. Almost everything
heard about 3D Studio MAX, so the idea was born to implement something
similar on the Spectrum, but does anyone need it? And so as not to waste
I'm wasting my time and would like to know the following:
1. Do they already exist?
2. If so, what (names)
3. To what extent do they justify themselves (can they be used for something
serious)
4. Are they needed on the Spectrum at all?

Hello, EARL
1. Yes. Even two.
2. a. 3D editor like 3D studio. With an unpronounceable name like UV3D or
something like that.
b.Editor of 3D games like Total Eclipse. It's called, I think, "3d games editor"
Everything is on VOS.
3. a. It's impossible. There is very simplified modeling - it seems like lofting the sections. Mona
make several sections. No animation. Renders to single-bit dither
pictures, in several options - you can even use fills and shadows (not
falling :)
b. Well, it’s probably possible to make games like Total Eclipse. But I didn’t understand.
4. As a fact, it would be very interesting! I would definitely buy it for my collection.
However, there are practically no difficulties in modeling and rendering in PC.
prog, and convert. Although, the conversion process is tiring;)

Hello, EARL
in fact - not a fact. Speck has his own requests, and specials. editor,
focused purely on their satisfaction will certainly be in demand.
I would start by asking well-known demomakers what they need
I would like to see in this kind of program, and do a survey or create
a thread on the forum is ineffective, because everyone is lazy, but, as practice shows,
It is much more thoughtful to approach the person personally with such a question.

A full-fledged 3D editor with shadows, fills and other crap is more than replaced
3D studio on PC - much less development time will be required.
But a vector editor wouldn’t hurt - there would be fewer resources, and more useful - because
converted wireframe models look really bad

I don’t want to promise anything yet, but maybe I’ll start developing it in that case
namely a vector editor. If anyone has any suggestions or thoughts on
on this matter, I will be glad to listen to them and take them into account.

Well, what kind of proposal can you make here as in 3D max...
In the real-time preview, cropped calculations...
And in full rendering, full calculation with floating point, etc.

Thank you, I think they will be useful, but not now. First I'm thinking of releasing
trial version on PC, and when it receives general approval, it will be possible

Hello, ayGROUP
It all depends on what the goal is.
The concept of “remoteness” is also very, very relative.
3dsmax is far from the only 3D modeling program...
If a person wants to try, let him try, there is no need to interfere with him. Ultimate
The result is sometimes not as important as the intermediate one. Let him think better
I can’t do this because I’ve already tried,” and not “I can’t do this.”
It will work out because they told me not to try." Can you hear the difference?
On topic. If you focus on vector models, then you can very, very well
things are moving forward IMHO...

In a similar situation, I learned C++ when I had to deal with strangers
sources. And I already have an engine (for PC), which I wrote as
laboratory work on "computer graphics". During development I used C++ and
WinAPI (plus ddraw, for quickly drawing buffers to the screen).

I completely agree! The greatest experience can only be gained through practice.P.S. Now, at the same time, I’m building a new version of my engine, because I’ve gained experience
when developing the first one. In general, I will use my work for the PC version!
P.P.S. If you do nothing, then “nothing will fall on top”!
