*Hello, All!*
I was sitting on the bank of Ufa, half-wet from dew and freezing from the morning cold.
Fingers dirty from fish mucus and fire ash frantically squeezed the uncomfortable and
heavy rod. The itch typical of an incipient cold began to creep up to my throat.
The trembling gaze of sleep-deprived eyes, red and watery from smoke, ran around
float, barely visible in the gloom of the May morning and swaying from
teasing bait little things.
Despite the obvious discomfort, clearly felt by the whole body, a feeling reigned in my soul.
perfect balance. Complete silence reigned in my head - no treacherous
the thought of returning to the camp did not dare to arise in the clouded consciousness
excess oxygen and slight fatigue. More acute than ever natural
the instinct of a primitive hunter suggested that now, between weak bites
and filling the fish tank with small fish, something is about to happen.
Bleak and small chebak seem to have conspired. They tugged the nozzle, lightly
drowned the float and hung on the fishing line, quickly fluttering in the air with their
frail silver bodies. Suddenly, their bite stopped. Muscles
got tense.
The float began to suddenly leave the water. After his third fall
to one side, my hand mechanically twitched and felt a tight, twitching
resistance.
A huge fish, black on top and silver below, weighing aboutkilogram, danced in the murky river water, and being taken out to
surface, raised a cloud of splashes. However, immediately, having gathered all her strength, she rushed into
depth, taking advantage of the minuscule thickness of the hook, which was no stronger than the one standing on
fishing rod with a thin fishing line.
The fight lasted half a minute. The fish appeared on the surface two more times.
Seeing the snag already near the shore, she dove into the protruding branches and died there
stuck. Attempts to free her from there did not lead to anything, as a result, she ended up over the water
the empty hook swayed, and the winner of the fight, with the air of a mistress, disappeared into
river abyss, waving his tail and letting a farewell ride across the surface of the water
wave.
