Summer trophy chase
22 June 2004 18:27
The most long-awaited summer holidays for every student have arrived.
I consider myself one of the people who loves open water fishing. Advent
vacation means only one thing for me, this is the opening of my new fishing
season. Looking ahead, I will say that this season was the most
memorable. We (me and my brother) were aimed at spinning fishing for large pike
and therefore, with the saved money, we bought baits, which mainly included
FOREST spinners and wobblers. As usual, my mother did not understand us and said that
There’s no point in wasting money on what she thinks is nonsense.
And so we went to live in the village of Tavatuy, where our beloved
The place for fishing is the lake of the same name.
Having arrived at the place, the first thing we did was to repair our watercraft. U
us, it was an old wooden boat that needed to be tarred and
paint. The repair lasted four days. All this time we didn’t miss fishing,
We fished with a fishing rod from a raft and caught small perch. Took very well
ruff.
As soon as we launched the boat, we decided to try out some of our gear,
and we agreed to go for real fishing the next morning. Under review
The baits in action did not catch anything trophy for us. Then all eveningWe were preparing for the morning fishing and persuaded our grandfather to come with us to show
places where large pike live. Our grandfather is a native resident of the village of Tavatuy, and
therefore he knows all the best places for fishing. He agreed, but only if
one condition (I won’t tell you).
Then morning came, and of course, we almost slept through the whole bite; just got up
thanks to my grandfather. We left at about six o'clock, reached the first place in half an hour,
ways of pulling out perches. It was overgrown, and we began to throw bait
between thickets of grass. We caught a few small pikes and that was it
ended. I had to change the place, but there was no bite there at all. After that
We explored several more places, changing baits and wiring techniques, but the pike
I didn’t want to take it to any. Having taken and shown the fishing places of his childhood, the grandfather
He didn’t travel with us unnecessarily.
June was left without a trophy. July has arrived, it is associated with heat and rare
days of silence on the lake.
I'll tell you one terrible story that happened on the lake during a July thunderstorm. B
One sunny day, already in the evening, a fisherman went out on a rubber boat and how
usually went almost to the middle of the lake. We watched him through binoculars, and
For about an hour, his fishing was going great. But suddenly from our city
a large black cloud appeared. After a while she closed the entire lake andThen something unimaginable began. The lake became all white with foam due to the waves,
which were about a meter high. The storm didn't last long and we went out
see what happened to the fisherman. He was not in the boat. A week later the corpse
found on the beach. We also found ourselves in such storms, but, thank God, we were
not far from the shore, otherwise who knows what would have happened.
Well, okay, from the terrible things, let’s move on again to the most important thing, fishing. Only to
At the end of July, the lake again became increasingly quiet. The end of July was again left without
trophy, mostly only perch brought us joy. There were also the rarest
moments, for example, I myself caught a SIGA with a spinning rod, which on a fishing rod is not
caught, and here on a spinning rod. He accidentally caught on the ridge, but when he
pulled out, the spinning rod was bent as if a huge fish was sitting there, although it
did not exceed 200 grams.
August has arrived, the last month of vacation, the last chance to catch a large pike.
And finally, it happened. One Saturday morning my grandfather asked us to take him to
bus stop, we of course happily agreed, since the stop
was at a decent distance from our house and we treasured it all the way.
My grandfather and I had spinning rods, and my brother rowed. More than half the way
swam without bites. Grandfather was the first to catch it, of course (he caught a small
perch). He started laughing at me and saying that he had caught it. I, of course, got offended and said, let's see who else can catch who and asked his brother to pass
a little more, because I had some inexplicable premonition. After
After a few strokes, the spinning rod bent somehow unusually. I immediately had
the idea that this is a hook. I pulled the spinning rod, and something heavy was pulled behind it, and I
instinctively began to reel in the fishing line. The reel was spinning heavily. In a moment
she appeared, such a long-awaited pike. I won’t tell you its size because I’m afraid
lie. The whole family and I ate it the next day, it seemed extraordinary
delicious, as it was my first real trophy.
