Hello Lennon ESLM - European Super League Manager. As far as I remember, this is a clone of MPSM, only with other teams/players, but I don’t remember better games in this genre.

From Yuliy Trunin To All 14 January 2006

Hello, All I would like to discuss games of this genre. Especially two games: Advanced Soccer Simulator and Multi Player Soccer Manager. It would be interesting to read about other games of this level. Rummaging through I found a lot of different managers for the Spectrum on the Internet, but the first one Look, they are all significantly inferior to these two. Maybe I'm just not there anymore able to evaluate the Spectrum game from the height of current progress and from the old I remember loving the two games above (correct me if this is not the case). However, I am almost sure that these two games, like the famous ELITE, in their genre are unsurpassed, especially in terms of gameplay. Today there is many options on PC but not one of them has this classic organized match animation, which reflects the most important aspects of football from a coach's point of view, as in ASS. Likewise, MPSM is unsurpassed in speed. passing seasons, and the content and essence of the game does not suffer from this. And also which is definitely not in any of the new games and many old ones (even on the Spectrum) - This is an atmosphere that makes the player’s imagination work as much as possible. Neither every game with backward graphics, even in those distant 80s and 90s, could promote imagination. It's a shame that modern games have completely lost this property. although maybe we're just growing up... Always yours Lennon.

Hello diver Thanks, I’ll look on the Internet right now, maybe I’ll find it and see what the fuss is about. You’re answering something lamely, is it because we don’t like football?

From Yuliy Trunin To All 14 January 2006

Hello Lennon no that's not it... There's plenty of this on PC!

Hello Lennon Hurray I remembered another good manager... Super League This is the very first manager I played! Very cool, then I was MP Soccer, and when the floppy disk with MPS went bad, I dug it up in my big one for ASS archive... Hurray :)!

Hello, kyv_triumph kyv> Not the best games of this genre on the ZX. kyv> The Double and Tracksuit Manager - the best .... I took a quick look and I'm afraid to disagree! The poor design immediately caught my eye; they are definitely inferior in this component MP Soccer and ASS. They certainly win in terms of the fullness of football nuances, but it seems to me that that on the Spectrum the best is the enemy of the good... It is precisely the oversaturation of settings and games of this genre suffer on PS, and the two you presented are precisely for this reason the paths have gone. Of course, I would add something to MPSS and ASS, but not much... And more is needed to formulate what I would like to see additionally in these games...

MP Soccer - if you play for a long time, complete nonsense begins - players from lower divisions acquire unreasonably high ratings, transfer the politics are not thought out at all, and the game itself is too simple. Enough strengthen the middle line and victory is guaranteed. ASS is a huge plus - statistics of achievements of all teams, the rest is so-so. In the same Double, everything is thought out to the smallest detail and this is by no means a minus. Of course in terms of The graphic design of the game is inferior to the above-mentioned games (it’s not there at all :), but in terms of realism it’s a leader (like Tracksuit Manager)PS: a long time ago I already sculpted a review of games of this genre, if anyone is interested - http://trd.speccy.cz/press/psychoz/PSY_17.ZIP

Hello Lennon If you need a good design, then this is Manchester United and Kenny Daglish Soccer Manager. As they say: do you want checkers or go? ESLM forever ;)

From Dmitry Kozhevnikov To All 15 January 2006

Hello Lennon I'll have to answer ;) Let's take a closer look at The Double since I played it the most and I think I know a lot about him :) What the hell is the element of randomness if, for example, I start a game - I do one and same movements and can get completely different results. Position in the table in at the beginning of the championship, everyone has the same one and it cannot influence the result. Also situation, for example with strong clubs, I can play the FIRST match in the championship for a very strong club win 5:0, and then start the game next time and choose that one the same club lost 0:5 in the FIRST match. What the hell is the case. No, I understand that an element of chance must be present, but not to the same degree. At the same time If I lose the first few matches, then I will lose the entire championship, regardless of the level of players. Then the question is, why do I need cool ones? players when they won’t be of any use anyway. And vice versa with a crap composition I can lead the team. IMHO this doesn’t happen, again I take it into account incomprehensible principle for issuing results. And I don’t need to draw analogies with real football - after all, this is a game that simulates the work of a football manager and nothing more. By the way, this reminded me a little of the situation with the first civilization when I could settlers to take out almost any combat unit - it was only necessarywill be shipped before trying - after a few times it worked reliably ;) ;) ;) Hmm, I feel like you’ll make me sit down with The Double again. By the way, here’s something else - I remember there was another manager - though not football and sort of like rugby. It seemed like it was nothing at all.

Hello, scl^mc scl> however, this is not always the case in reality. very often in scl> European championships, a clear outsider in the league at the end of the season scl> takes away points from the clubs fighting for first place This happens a lot at MPS! how much I played, the most difficult teams for the leaders are those who are chasing them and outsiders... They play with the weak, bad because of lack of setup! What's good about MPS and ASS is that it implements a lot in algorithms, although the settings are minimal and this is understood only by those who really understand football stuff! The most important thing is that these seemingly non-customizable things you can influence! For example, lack of adjustment can be treated by putting players on the bench substitutes, although at first glance it seems, why put players at a lower level? However, you need to be careful about this; all replacements must be spot-on, otherwise Team play breaks down! The coolest thing about Spectrum games is the fantasy that starts to work! It's about the same as watching a movie or reading a book... There's a lot on PS settings, attention is scattered, completely different resources are affected there brain! Attention, memory, etc. And in specrum managers like me wrote above, the brain works on imagination and logic, that is, both hemispheres turn on! ZX-SPECTRUM - don't let your brain get stiff!!!

From Yakovlev Anton To All 15 January 2006

Hello Dimon Dim> And the results of the matches themselves, in my opinion, are added up according to the reelette principle Dim> - try to play the same match twice by starting the game Dim> again - and you can see the exact opposite result. This refers to the element of surprise, which fuels interest in the game. after all, it is enough for one of the leading players of your team to get injured in early in the game and everything goes wrong. or vice versa, early removal in the team the opponent will give an additional advantage to your team. another thing is that it should be done normally. this is not a situation for you when you are replaying the same match for the *nth time, and the score on the scoreboard is the same, the same players scored the goals and the same players caught the cards. Unfortunately, out of all the football managers on the Spectrum, not a single one hooked me for a long time, and the fact is that on PC there is a standard of the genre - uefa manager 2000 :)

From Yakovlev Anton To All 15 January 2006

Hello Lennon kyv> The result is also influenced by the team’s tournament position in the championship. len> that's right! and it’s very strong and it’s realistic... however, this is not always the case in reality. very often in European championships, the obvious outsider of the league at the end of the season takes points from the leaders fight for the first place of clubs, and in national cups a club from the 2-3 division (or even a conference in England) is capable of not only showing a decent game with stronger and more eminent opponent, but even to ruin hopes for the cup to some Premier League giant. Football in general is such an unpredictable thing that it is impossible to create an accurate model of it. seems possible. but it is quite possible to try to get closer to this. :)

From Yakovlev Anton To All 15 January 2006

Hello Lennon there is also a 1st division manager, but there is a glitch with the degradation of football players (not they train for nothing :)) I can also recommend zx football manager 2005 from triumph game lab, you can ask kyv :)

Hello Lennon I like professional soccer ASS is intriguing at first, but something doesn’t bother me to play on a difficult level, No matter how hard I try, they still press me. and I don’t feel any logic in it at all. and Professional Soccer is more intelligent, in my opinion
