Hello, All People! Recommend a game (quest, arcade) with FAST (from 25 fps) pixel-by-pixel scrolling fields. Preferably horizontally.

From Slavik Tretiak To All 17 February 2006

Hello, Soplik what are there? ;) Mario demo from Gogin seems to be. All sorts of Worms (there are some where the scrolling is pixel-by-pixel) I saw a couple more developments (D'Art/Fenomen did something once, me too, but this everything is unfinished and the floppy disks are gathering dust)

From Slavik Tretiak To All 17 February 2006

Hello, Soplik D'Art also made something like Mario, in color, so everything scrolled. I did Kill Dj.Psych (only it seems there was vertical scrolling, it was a long time ago, need to watch) why isn't it finished? The answer is simple - at first I was wondering how it would be, but it will work out Is it... the engine was being written, and then oops, interest! and disappeared. that's all ;)

From Slavik Tretiak To All 17 February 2006

Hello, Soplik not really. There are enough game ideas. There is no time whatsoever. And the external motivator... If you mean money, then you still have a salary There are more of me ^_~ and therefore there is more motivation to work at work.

From Victor Ivanov To All 17 February 2006

Hello, Soplik What did you do and why didn’t you finish it? (I saw Mario, there are no such Worms)

From Victor Ivanov To All 18 February 2006

Hello, Soplik 1. Okay. What if it's not money? If, for example, fame? Or a Spectrum girl? 2. So you need to choose one idea, the most interesting one, stick to it and dig in?

From Vyacheslav Kalinin To All 18 February 2006

Hello, Soplik Sop> What are the other parameters of those engines? Sop> Number of sprites, freedom of movement, animation? On the Spectrum, in order to get everything out of the processor, you need to sharpen the engine for a specific game, and not decide based on the engines what can be done with them. It also plays a significant role in what memory the game is used for, under 256 it opens where more possibilities. And with a turbo, not at all.

From Vyacheslav Kalinin To All 18 February 2006

Hello, Soplik Sop> What are the other parameters of those engines? Sop> Number of sprites, freedom of movement, animation? Sop> Battle Toads can be made? In Battle Toads, IMHO, there is no need for scrolling, because there is a zone-based passage.

From Evgeny Zaretsky To All 18 February 2006

Hello Sinus Sin> what are there? ;) Sin> D'Art/Fenomen did something once, me too, but it's all nothing Sin> completed and gathering dust on floppy disks D-Art had several engines ready to scroll the screen into a frame. There was a couple engines with horizontal scrolling and one with vertical scrolling. These engines, in principle, workers. Made for The Matrix. The part with vertical scrolling was finished, I only needed my own graphics (at the time of writing and debugging, they used other people’s sprites). Later, one of the horizontal scrolls was “painted” and split for 2 more independent engines (using the so-called “interlaced fields” and without their use). Even then, someone said that a fully scrolling You can't make Mario on the Spectrum. D-Art did it, Mario ran into the frame. Next, Apparently, having proven (most likely to myself) that it can still be done, all these developments are so and were left collecting dust on the disks. Although the source code was later distributed to several people, and there seems to be something lying around somewhere on the Internet to this day... If I made a mistake somewhere, let D-Art correct him, after all, he is the “writer” of the code :)

From Vyacheslav Kalinin To All 18 February 2006

Hello Zeg Zeg> Even then, someone said that a fully scrolling Mario on Zeg> Spectrum cannot do this. D-Art did it, Mario ran into the frame. How many enemies were there? Were there mushrooms, coins, etc.? B&W? What screen size?

From Robus To All 18 February 2006

Hello, Soplik Sop> People! Sop> Recommend a game (quest, arcade) with FAST (from 25 fps) pixel by pixel Sop> by scrolling the field. Sop> Preferably horizontally. You tell us what needs to be done, the engine will be born on the fly. 25 fps is of course too cool, with pixel scrolling, but the main thing is to understand the idea. By the way, scrollable, not the entire screen, but only individual parts, for example "Zynaps" or "R-Type". Sop> 1. Okay. Sop> What if it’s not money? If, for example, fame? Sop> Or a Spectrumist girl? Sop> Sop> 2. That is, you need to choose one idea, the most interesting one, stick to it and Sop> fuck? 1. We will give money to build a hospital for poor IBMers. 2. Let someone else take the glory. A good guy, Slavik, probably. 3. Spectrum girl, we won’t give her away, we’ll dedicate poems to her. =) :) Just kidding :) P.S.: So what should you do?

From Victor Ivanov To All 18 February 2006

Hello new art 1) Nothing is needed until April. For now, I'm collecting ideas. Chip and Dale? 2D racing? dizzy? 2) That is, frame scrolling is possible EITHER horizontally OR vertically? Badly. Micromachines can no longer be made.

From Victor Ivanov To All 19 February 2006

Hello new art Oh, and one more question. If the picture is from an LD-PUSH buffer and the sprites are directly on the screen, Isn't it possible to save the background? Yes?

From Victor Ivanov To All 19 February 2006

Hello new art I-men-but! It all depends on the artist!

From Evgeny Zaretsky To All 19 February 2006

Hello new art new> How many enemies were there? Were there mushrooms, coins, etc.? B&W? What size new> screen? I don’t remember the technical characteristics (i.e. the number of these same mushrooms, coins etc.), everything was in color, taxied on 2/3 of the screen. You can, of course, try to find the sources, but most likely D-Art doesn’t care now will find. I only have “spare parts” for the Matrix. Sometimes the idea arises of cobbling something together from them, because there are 2 full-fledged engines done... But again I’m stuck with the lack of graphics and levels :(.

From Vyacheslav Kalinin To All 20 February 2006

Hello, Soplik Sop> All this eats is HALF of a frame and TWENTY kilobytes of memory. If the sprites are already scrolled, then it’s far from 20kb, it’s good if 128 is enough. If you scroll in real time, then it’s not half a frame or a frame.

From Evgeny Zaretsky To All 20 February 2006

Hello, Soplik Sop> Zeg, look what comes out: Sop> Sop> ... Sop> Sop> Find artists and make a game. Large and powerful. You can see more interesting ideas in the FreeMan engine of an unreleased game Drunkard (I think that’s what it was called). It’s true that understanding the code is terrible! And so, really, it’s a matter of bullshit ;) - find an artist, write a script and develop levels... Just a little...

From Victor Ivanov To All 20 February 2006

Hello Zeg No, of course, this is just for the background. But the sprites will be a little faster than usual. Or not?

From Aprisobal To All 22 February 2006

Hello, Soplik Sop> People! Sop> Recommend a game (quest, arcade) with FAST (from 25 fps) pixel by pixel Sop> by scrolling the field. Sop> Preferably horizontally. Vertical view of the NumbCars 2 demo at 25 fps: http://zx.pk.ru/showthread.php?t=1265. And in the bourgeois LED Storm, where too auto+vert. scrolling, generally seems to be 50 fps. That's how they knew how to code. Zeg> You can see more interesting ideas in the FreeMan engine Zeg> of the released game Drunkard (I think that’s what it was called). The truth is to understand the code Zeg> - horror! Quite normal - the function Replace All ":"=>" "He copes well with this. :) A long time ago I converted its source into a normal form for myself to check SjASMPlus. Works. By eye it's 50 fps. Horizontal scroll. In general, see Attach. But it looks like Freeman abandoned it because it was sorely missed beats File: DrunkardSRC_SjASMPlus.zip http://zx.pk.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=2652
