Hello, All
Launched into test operation to hone the technology:
http://mercury.probapribor.spb.ru:8000/
To listen you need: Winamp (http://www.winamp.com/player/)
or another audio player capable of, what is called, listening
"Internet radio". Perhaps, if not already installed, installing codecs
(http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/). Then you can click on the link
(http://mercury.probapribor.spb.ru:8000/test.ogg).
Technical details: “broadcasting” is carried out using open
formats and codecs -- using icecast (http://www.icecast.org/) and codecs
ogg vorbis (http://www.vorbis.com/). The average flow rate is
96kbit/sec.
The audio source for icecast is currently the player
Ay_Emul (author S. Bulba). The player connects to icecast as follows:

There are certain difficulties with audio output from esd and input into ices2
accordingly, and the combination WinESD - esound itself is not very clear
works. The difficulties, however, I think, are surmountable.
Why were 3 computers needed: we could have done with two
(one encodes, one distributes - maybe just one, but on a wide channel).
One way or another, it turns out, a Windows machine is needed. AyEmul latest versions at least
and it works stably and generally well under Wine, it does not work with esd. Judging byAnyway, this is exactly the problem with the combination of AyEmul and esd. Or maybe I have wine itself
pretty rancid (20050310).
Broadcasting technology will be described in more detail later... after the decision
a number of technical difficulties.

Hello, scl^mc
scl> oops. :rolleyes; How; Would you like to force Winamp to play?
I installed the codec -- http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/. After which winamp
played.
I am not a very experienced Windows user and I could be wrong about something, but in my opinion
this
enough. In Linux it can be played immediately (but libogg was installed there right away).
Of course mp3 is more common. But it seems to provide several
worse sound quality - cuts off high frequencies (which is for chiptunes
sensitive).
On the other hand, after ogg some unnatural stereo effect appears
and volume jitter. :-/

Hello fk0
fk0> And in general this is all a stupid idea. Because it's copyright. I'm not sure I'm in
fk0> able to poll
fk0> N tens or hundreds of ZX composers and that at least half of them
fk0> will give permission.
then play the music of those who agree. although it won’t be enough... actually, how
say. Let's take 10 musicians who agreed. there will be tracks about everyone
let them be 20 each (the best in their opinion). we already have 200 Mouzons that can be
shuffle this way and that. average duration - well, let it be 2 minutes. total
we get 400 minutes, i.e. about 6 hours 30 minutes. it will already look like something.
IMHO :)

Hello ch41ns4w
why bother encoding Sinclair's Mouzons in MP3 in advance with high
bitrate, then to suit the needs of the radio you can change the codec and bitrate, but in parts
transferring to the Internet, I’m not an expert, you need to copy a real working diagram of some kind
internet radio stations
