So, two weeks ago I defended my diploma at Mendeleevka, the question arose about searching work for yourself in Moscow. ;) I’ve been wondering for a long time how much Is it scary/stressful/profitable to be a musician in passages/in the subway/on the street? I have here's the music. there is education in the flute class, and the flute itself is available, but practical application of it, except for irregular rehearsals in the “basement” group no. I came to the conclusion that playing in the subway is the only possible job for me "self-master" without any boss and with an absolutely free schedule, with which I could handle. Therefore, questions to street musicians (especially flutists), to those who have among acquaintances of such musicians or to people who in some other way know _real_ situation: 1. What does a person who first decides to play in the subway need to know? besides music literacy? 2. What is the relationship between musicians and the police? Do they have to pay anything? for the right to play, or they simply drive you away when you are present in a given place undesirable? What better way to express yourself - just get up and start playing, and wait until the cop approaches, or maybe you should approach first to the policeman on duty and ask permission to play here.3. What is the relationship between musicians and local “authorities” who collect tribute? from traders, as well as just gopotas? Are there problems? 4. What kind of relationships do street musicians have with their colleagues? Is it possible that you are playing and a competitor approaches you and says: “This is my place, I bought it, and I’ve been playing here for a long time”? If he does will say, can this be true? 5. What kind of music do people spend more money on - simple tunes that everyone has? well-known, or for complex virtuoso conceptual, but little known works. In particular, from the point of view of the Russian mentality, why The _flautist_ (it’s impossible to sing) will rather be thrown money - a) “Taganka”, "Belovezhskaya Pushcha"; b) “Turkish March” by Mozart, “Joke” by Bach; c) "Stairway to Heaven" by LED ZEPPELIN, "One for the vine", "Supper's ready" by GENESIS? How much do street musicians in Moscow really earn on average per day (and like in other cities of the world)? 6. What do you have to talk about with listeners who want to talk? 7. Are there frequent cases of musicians receiving ZIPs for “not standing there, not do you whistle like that? 8. Where is it still more profitable - in the transition between metro stations, at the exit from metro, in a street crossing, near wholesale markets or, say, on Arbat? It is clear that it is warmer in the metro. By the way, I often see musicians on the subway in winter without outerwear. Where do they store it?Sincere via, Alexej aka Marillion. currently playing - KANSAS "Masque" 1975
