Unfortunately, there is no way to find out how on a real (and correctly soldered) AY
channels sound in volume. Emulators all vied with each other to produce completely different
sound picture: for example, EmuZWin the middle channel produces almost twice as loud
extreme ones, Realspectrum makes it more flexible - there you can select the “channel collapse according to
channels", but again it is not known how this corresponds to the real spec. B
Ideally, all three channels should be identical in volume, but in reality?
So I appeal to the conscious public to listen to the channels and
tell you how things really are. Who can - please test and
write.

there is no single standard. read BORN DEAD's, they conducted research on this
question, in particular the mcc method used the fact that different channels sound with
different volumes, for digital playback with a bit depth of more than 4 bits

On AY all channels (by ear) are identical in volume, but on YM the middle channel
seems louder than the extreme ones. This is due to the fact that in YM the outer channels are more
panned "in their direction".
Unfortunately, there is no standard for channel distribution. I decided for myself that
standard - ABC (that is, channel B - average). The bourgeoisie mainly have ACB, and on
Scorpios - BAC :wink:

Where does this information come from?
