This is due to the fact that at the beginning of the test there is:

On Pentagone (and on other clones with the #FD port) in Spectrum 128 mode this is
disables
BASIC48 page, which leads to execution
programs from ROM Basic page 128.
It is enough to replace out (c),a with two nops for everything to work.
Unfortunately, it looks like the body of the program is clogged, so the hex editor cannot be used to treat it.
Naturally, everything works in Scorpione.
