What's going on with the sound in EGAL?
ZXNet echo conference «hardware.zx»

Hello, All
Sorry if I should have written in the music section, but the question is more about hardware.
I already wrote that I made a full 128th spec in FPGA. Including sound chip.
But not everything is in order with it - some programs sound fine (compared
with an emulator) and others - not.
Specifically, "dead morose" and "egal" play music in the emulator, but for me, except
I can't hear anything from the drums.
But today I finally received the YM2149F. I connected and the same garbage...
I don’t understand this at all anymore. Nenya may have had errors in Verilog,
but the chip is real!
If I load "AY-DRIVR", then everything seems to work as it should - both tones and noise.
Could it be that “dead morose” and “egal” are designed for additional hardware?

Hello alexfreed
Perhaps there is an addressing problem?
check how you address AY and #7FFD.
In my emulator, at first there were glitches in some programs, then I took the diagram
Pentagon, did 1/1 like there and everything magically worked.

Hello Sinus
I don't think it's addressing. I made it according to the Turbo-2 recipe. I look at it on an oscilloscope:
once every 20 ms several (about 12) pairs of calls to AY - register selection, recording
byte. And so on several programs, only some play normally, while others -
no.
I thought the call to AY was too short - 300 nS. Doubled it, but it’s better not
became.
What else should I check?

Hello alexfreed
AY must be decoded in the high half of the address only by bits A15 and A14
otherwise there may be glitches in programs that use short IN OUT commands
