Video memory in Sprinter

Hello, All I understand correctly that the video memory that is physically implemented on SRAM is shady? Those. The program is working with the main memory area, but Does the recording go to both memories (I said something crookedly)? If so, what's the point? Why couldn’t these 256K be physically included in the general memory field? This is not wasteful at all?
