In 1994, in Novosibirsk, I remade my Spec 48k at the Mezon company.

The spec was not preserved unambiguously, but it seems that nothing was added (maybe the current signal
which one was added, but I can’t say for sure, so many years have passed).
But the fact is that this device was plugged into 128kb spec without problems instead of
disk drive controller - I remember exactly (just in the ZX 64-pin system connector).
I’ll definitely look for it, it seems like I came across it a year ago and wanted
throw it away, but then changed my mind. Apparently not in vain :) As soon as I find it, I’ll definitely talk about it here

from 16 to 64 kb (in those days 27s512 were in great short supply and very expensive).
The internal monitor occupied the first 2 kB. The rest of the program is in compressed format.
It was possible to flash any program from the Quorum disk into ROM.
I think chess programmed into ROM were the most popular, because
got boring quickly, like other games.
And it was too expensive to rewrite the ROM, because, as it turned out,
often when erasing and rewriting the ROM simply stopped working.
They used homemade UV irradiators for erasing.
