8259 is used particularly in SMUC. It is quite possible that there were other devices
(I think they were).
8257 is 80% similar to 8237, and if you find a “core” at least on it, then modify it
to 8237 is much easier than writing it from scratch. And 8237 itself is known to have been
applied in DMA USC.
But, still, the most difficult to find is 8254 - if you read the relevant forums,
then no one has described 8254/8253 yet. I would like to hope that they are wrong and

I understand that you are going to design Scorpien? You should contact KGB+,

Well, technically, nothing prevents such a thing from existing - there is a one-to-one
correspondence between the firmware file and the fan configuration. Third party
developers, theoretically, could implement this. And the defense, IMHO,
is established in the form of the impossibility of “retrieving” the firmware file from the FPGA.

Please do not twist. v9990 is the same ready-made solution as the soft core -
ready, but not “chewed”. Both the soldering iron and the Spectrum are not
“screw it on” - you still need to work. And, IMHO, ready-made mikrukha is easier
"screw it on" than to release the circuit into the FPGA. Now, if I asked, say,
ready firmware for SMUC, then you would have the right to accuse me of wanting
