Hello, All
connected the joystick from the shogi (by tearing off the wires from the microcircuit there and soldering
straight to the contact pads) - how Sinclair works, and how Kempston fails

A; In general, does anyone use SEG or any other modern joysticks with
Spectrum without alterations to the joystick filling? and it makes me sad to think that

As far as I remember, you can take a pad and a couple of buttons from the SEG joystick
straight from the connector, without spoiling anything. For other buttons it’s already more difficult, like this
backward compatibility was...
And so on my PC I have a pad from Sonya via LPT, and on the spec there is a stick with buttons =)

Good idea, but who will write the software for
using these bits for a joystick....? :)
Even if something is released on a microcontroller, it will be needed by a narrow
circle of spektrumists. It is much easier to disassemble the joystick and solder the wires to
keyboard, for those who really want it, and then accordingly in the game
redefine the keys to those that are parallelized.
The best thing is that it is an add-on to an already made ZXMC card of any port or
using an existing rs232 by simply changing the firmware.

Perhaps the problem is that the Kempston port is designed for a complete circuit
contacts and on a rubber joystick the contacts have resistance when pressed
about 50 ohms, for some it varies depending on the coverage up to 200 ohms.

there are separate wires for the directions and 2 buttons, but all the wires except the ground
they do not go directly to the contact pads, but through some kind of multiplexer,
filled with epoxy. tried to use it like this (supplying another +5v, which, as they say,
that multiplexer is powered), it didn’t work

mappings (say, 5 would be enough), and reassigning the joystick buttons approximately
like this: you press a button on the keyboard, a button on the joystick, and some other special button, and it
remembered :v2_wink:
