Hello, All Friends, I beg you not to be lazy and measure the distance between the slots (SNP connectors) on this expander. If possible, you can also attach a photo. I would be extremely grateful! Thanks in advance!

It's already established practice and all bodies have exactly this distance (this is true, on every fireman).

Hello, CHRV CHR> It will be outrageously glitchy, or even the percent will start smoking - load CHR> his ability is not unlimited! It seems to mean that the expander is buffered. The diagram is here: http://zx.pk.ru/showthread.php?t=3940 Offer options, I would like to know an option that can suit everyone.

From Evgeny Muchkin To All 5 December 2006

Hello, Mikka_A You caught the train of my thoughts. I agree with your opinion. But what about the number of slots? I think that if you do, then no less than 4 slots (and on one side, like on the Scorpio expander.) What are your opinions, gentlemen?

Hello, Evgeny Muchkin Evg> You caught the train of my thoughts. I agree with your opinion. Evg> Evg> But what about the number of slots? I think that if you do, then don’t Evg> less than 4 slots (and on one side, like on Scorpio Evg> expander.) Evg> Evg> What is your opinion, gentlemen? My opinion: Make sure that the board fits against the slots for boards in the standard case, be it AT or ATX, it’s not difficult to make a double set of holes for mounting. And actually it’s time to make expansion boards “ears” for standard mounting and connectors. The board should have a connector for connecting to the specs from the end, i.e. closer to face of the case, so that you can stick a scorpion there with a connector soldered to the side of the board, or just a regular connector with a cable to any spec. Or maybe with two "combs" from the end and from the top or bottom, i.e. like a standard Christmas tree. Of course at least 4 slots, I think six would not be out of place, the question here is rather the size of the fee and, as a result, the cost. Is everything buffered of course?

From Evgeny Muchkin To All 6 December 2006

Hello Mike As Stirlitz said: everyone can criticize and... that, but offer something specific decision... That's just what Mike suggested; Gentlemen, feel free to share your thoughts! :) In a dispute truth is born! :) I have already outlined my vision, now I dare to add a fly in the ointment to Mike’s idea: 1. Not everyone has boards the size of Scorpion ZS 256 Turbo+ (personally, I just have Turbo and it doesn’t fit into a minitower in height :(, I’m not even talking about all sorts of pentagons and other widespread ZX's), meaning that no confidence that in the same plane, as in the figure, it will be possible to place and board and expander. 2. Complication of the device due to triggers for power supply and so on... You understand, unnecessary complexity in design means unnecessary complexity in production... etc., I'm afraid it won't end up being expensive. 3. How many ZX devices are there in the world with a bracket for the holes of the AT/ATX case? No! Why fence a garden? For example, you can buy separately for the Kamilev card bracket in any computer store and bring everything beautifully to the rear end housings (this is how I did it, for example) 4. Looking at the picture, I understand that if I don’t insert General Sound, it won’t fit, because it is wide. Uncritical remark. 5. I also thought about the electrical connector, i.e. planned to be attached to bus expander connector as on a 5'25 drive with +5 and +126. Theoretically, the circuit from X-Trade is capable of supporting 6 devices. In reality - 4-5. That’s why I suggested making 4 slots so that there would definitely be no glitches (even though they and some people like it ;)). I also forgot to write that I like the location of the expander at the bottom minitower cases (fasten with 4 screws), so the devices in it will be parallel to the motherboard. PS; Not; I want them to bombard me after they make the nth number of boards for me rotten eggs. Don't pass by! Everyone needs ZXBUS (it's like a mobile phone: no and don’t need it, and if there is, then it’s unclear how to live without it :))

From Mike To All 6 December 2006

Hello, Evgeny Muchkin Evg> 1. Not everyone has boards the size of the Scorpion ZS 256 Turbo+ (I personally have Evg> it's just Turbo and it doesn't fit into a minitower in height :( , I'm not even saying Evg> about all sorts of Pentagons and other widespread ZXs), available Evg> due to the fact that there is no certainty that it is in the same plane, as in the figure Evg> it will be possible to place both the board and the expander. I agree, but now in stores there is a large selection of completely different cases sizes and at completely different prices, so you can choose for any spec. Evg> 2. Complicating the device due to triggers for power supply and so on... Itself Evg> you see, unnecessary complexity in the design means unnecessary complexity in Evg> production... etc., I'm afraid that in the end it won't be expensive. Evg> But this is not a significant complication, practically one or two small bodies loose powder and a little binding and again, you can dilute it, but solder it or not, this is a separate question. And it won’t take up much space on the PCB, so the price will remain virtually unchanged. Evg> 3. How many ZX devices are there in the world with a bracket for AT/ATX holesEvg> body? No! Why fence a garden? For example, under the Kamilev card Evg> you can buy a bracket separately at any computer store and remove it Evg> everything is beautiful on the rear end of the case (this is how I did it, for example) I personally drilled four holes in my AT case, in places where it was convenient me, screwed four bushings and mother on them. The whole operation took about ten minutes. Moreover, it almost damaged the body. Yes, and with such a mass "Christmas trees" with boards, it needs to be attached somewhere. Evg> 4. Looking at the picture, I understand that it’s not possible to plug in General Sound Evg> fits because it is wide. Non-critical note. Is it sticking out into the back of the body? This can be thought about... Evg> 5. I also thought about the electrical connector, i.e. planned Evg> attach a connector to the bus expander like on a 5'25 drive with +5 and +12 Evg> Sound idea. That's right - screw the AT connector, better than molex (5.25"...) and ATX IMHO. Evg> 6. Theoretically, the circuit from X-Trade is capable of supporting 6 devices. B Evg> in reality - 4-5. That's why I suggested making 4 slots to be precise Evg> there were no glitches (although some people like them ;)).What if we essentially duplicate it? Assemble two three slots and load them onto the bus spec. You can even not solder half of the slots with loose solder, for whom three is enough - again savings.

Hello, Mikka_A Mik> And I prefer the idea of an expander in one line with the board, but Mik> devices are perpendicular to it. :v2_rolley This is only implemented in brands, i.e. when the body and mother are made as one system, in the sense that you can’t put anything else in such a case without an angle grinder, equal like the mother in the other. In general, not our option - absolutely not universal. Yes and in With such constructs there were problems with contact, from loosening the tree in mother connector. I had brands (Compaq and IBM), I am not familiar with this by hearsay.
