As far as I understand, you cannot adjust the heads.
This means this: the ribbon and its fastening do not play any (or rather special) role!
I shifted all this myself - nothing.
You need to adjust the track sensor 0 first.
Then check how the heads move along the guides - after replacing the heads
Often the guides are misaligned and heads roll crookedly.
And start playing with the stepper motor. Loosen it slightly
and move forward/backward checking how the disc is read.
You start from track #00 - move your heads to the middle of the disc and say "CAT".The heads must arrive at the beginning of the disk and a directory must be issued.
YES! First of all, check the disk rotation speed!
If the directory is not displayed, then you start catching track #00.
You hook oscillators or headphones to the flop data output.
When the heads are in the inter-track space, white noise is heard.
And when the heads hit the track, a loud buzzing sound appears.
(...it's "zhy" - for good reason!... ;) I don't know how it looks on the oscillator.
You catch this buzzing and try to display the directory.
If it is displayed, you record this location with the zero road sensor.
If not, then most likely you caught the wrong track :)
Then it’s about the same thing - you ask to count the track 5/10, and with the stepper motor
you move your head towards her...
