I had an inkjet MC6312
Oh, I had a lot of trouble with it. The print head crashed very often
Moreover, it was not cheap and the print quality was not very good.

Hello Costa
I had a Robotron connected (I don’t remember the model), it’s still in the garage
collecting dust... I also did an experiment on connecting an HP DeskJet 400, quite
successfully, since this printer still supported the ESC control code set.
But since this jet was not mine, I actually didn’t use it.

Hello, DVS
Yeah. Another interesting thing is that the cartridge is made in a transparent case and you can see that
inside the ink is poured into a rubber condom, which is in the process of being consumed

In fact, the problem appeared with the advent of so-called cheap
win printers that do not support printing the old fashioned way via ESC.

That is Now there are printers on the market that understand ESC, but there is “software” or
"VIN" printers that do not understand ESC. When purchasing a device, you need to very
carefully check with the seller whether the printer supports printing from under
DOS. Our additional payment for DOS support ranges from 300 to 1000 rubles.
If I'm not mistaken, this support is implemented in the Xerox Phaser 3130, but definitely not
I'll tell you.
PS: For Windows there is software support for printing from DOS applications, i.e. emulation, and
You need to experiment in the absence of “windows” ;)

Hello jdigreze
Yes, the problem there is that the printer is very cunningly controlled by the system. And
The manufacturer usually puts knowledge of this trick into the driver. And in
As proof, I will cite the fact that even for modern operating systems of the family
Linux does not always manage to connect a modern laser/inkjet printer. Yes
and color management (for the same class of printers) as you imagine
via ESC sequences? I personally don’t (-; that’s why there are difficulties with
connection - if there is an RS232 interface and, accordingly, support
ESC sequences, then more or less - at least printing in
it will be black and white, but if there is no ESC support and especially if there is no
RS232, then we can only shrug our shoulders. As a printing option
you can do this - there are various print processors and in quality
implementable option - there is a RAWW processor. It apparently gets RGB
(CMYK) image and displays it - if the speck is integrated into the network, then
you can transfer the printed resource through the network and actually print, otherwise I
I don't even know how.
P.S. If anyone doesn’t know, then in addition to RS232 there is also USB, IEEE, BlueTooth, etc.

Hello, maximk
My first printer was also an MS 6312, it took me a whole winter to buy it
work hard in some kind of check fund. It's exactly the same as everyone else's withered
cartridges, etc. This isn't about him.
Everyone remembers the rumors that the 6312 was a clone of “some” imported printer,
in some places they even said that it was Kodak Diconix.
So, not long ago I came across this printer. His condition was bad -
The entire cartridge leaked inside and completely dried out. However, the device succeeded
wash them off and make them pretend to work. The next problem was to find
cartridge for it (as you know, they have cartridges compatible with 6312). Again on
According to rumors, it turned out that some cartridges from HP fit it. So,
HP still makes these cartridges (like almost all that have ever been made)
and they cost quite socially by today’s standards, 9-10 dollars. Cartridge
Excellent quality, does not dry out, prints very clearly. Sold packaged
in a tin jar (even tears in my eyes ;-). Incl. now all this miracle is worth
prints at the request of the workers. The cartridge, out of old habit, lies in the refrigerator.
By the way, one serious difference between Kodak and MS 6312 is that it is capable
run on batteries!!! The batteries are located inside the roller that feeds
paper.
PS If anyone is interested in the HP cartridge model, ask, I’ll take a look.

Hello, DVS
I also connected the A4 Robotron. But the funny thing was that I had a 48k car
without any ports, and the robotron had an RS232 interface card. I soldered
tape bit (not from the socket, but from the circuit, so that it is TTL) to the BB51 RxD leg
(i.e. bypassing level converters). The readiness of the printer was transmitted using the same
principle :)
Then I wrote a small program that output a byte to the port and reassigned
channel #3 to her.
Everything worked :) Even the printing procedure fit into 256 bytes of the program
screenshots with shades of gray (2x2 matrix).

Hello axor

axo> I heard that someone did this in Ukraine, but no details, no brand
axo> I don’t know.
Explain to me stupid, what is the problem? What's the difference: Matrix, drum,
laser, inkjet? As far as I remember (there was a problem, although under DOS, according to
fiddle with the print format) if you throw byte by byte into the port, the printer
will print all this according to the currently set
printer character generator. The only difference between matrix and inkjet is more
number of control sequences and correspondingly large
capabilities for managing paper output.

Hello,GriV
Everything that is printed under Win or Linux is printed in graphical form. Task
The solution is this: get the same type of document (as on the screen) outside
depending on the transmission medium and type of printer used. Just for fun
install the mart Epson driver for Windows and print to a file using
printer driver, then you can see what happened in the file. I assure you that
there are no ESC sequences there.
You can do the following experiment: connect the laser to the parallel port of the computer in

This is where the printing will be done using the printer’s internal character generator. I'm not sure that's true

Everything will work if you can secure it (I did that by the way, when in what
then the MS format A3 reed switch is cracked), and the switch will not work.
There is no need to calibrate anything! Then you simply correct the left edge of the paper and

Here's more:
Replacing the print head on MC6312
To replace the MC6902 head in the "Electronics MC6312" thermal inkjet printer with
imported HP51604A, the head supply voltage must be increased from 18 to 24 Volts.
To do this, open the printer, turn it off and remove the board from it
management. Below it is a voltage stabilizer board, on which
The zener diode KS162A (VD6 according to the printer circuit) is replaced with D814D. Then, don't
When connecting control boards, use variable resistor R8 to set the voltage
at the output of the stabilizer, equal to 24 V. It is convenient to control it on the contacts
Sockets for connecting printed ribbon cable. Find the right pair
The contacts are simple - the two widest conductors of the cable are connected to them.
Having installed the control board in place, check the printer in operation.
