Nope, the boards have not been launched into series yet... And will they be launched ;). But the work itself
It’s commendable that, unlike the talkers, Lech is doing the work. I know they will be expanded
video modes (which are not yet known) are not yet available.
By the way, there is quite a lot of logic on board. But it’s quite easy to assemble on your own
in reality - everything is on DIPs.

I really don't know. But in Turbo 2+ the autoloader with SD according to the Bystrov standard is already
very soon it will be in ROM :) (I can already feel the reaction of the Pentagon haters).
Let me remind you that the built-in IDE on the Pentagon 1024 did not appear (although you can build
easily on the assembly field). Just like the keyboard controller didn’t appear
(implies the use of Kamil Karimov's controller). Those. consider
a couple of slots will be occupied.
Unfortunately, talk about the design of ports for working with extended memory
I didn't have enough time - not on topic yet.

This morning I met with Alexey Zhabin (aka KingEvil) he told me and
showed a new version of Pentagon 1024.
Difference from the previous one:
1) The video controller and port decryption are implemented on the Altera EPM7xxx FPGA;
2) Made three ZXBUS slots;
3) Integrated RGB->PAL encoder based on MC1377.
The board is in the final debugging stage. Only three boards have been made, so far
the series was not released.
He doesn’t update the site because there are some problems with the Internet.

If they could be screwed onto any car from the existing fleet there would be a problem

ZX variants? Isn't it time to come to some standard? And then there’s software for it
the case will never appear, in more or less decent quantities. Let's say mode
320X200 256 Colors with strict standards for ports, addresses, etc. or even with
driver system and standardized protocol.

I received a letter from Lekha:
Last week, debugging of the Pentagon-1024SL ver.2.0 board was successfully completed.
At the moment, the main FPGA firmware (dated 05/12/06) implements the following
additional (compared to Pentagon-128) functions:
- 1024k RAM (control done through 5, 6, 7 bits 7ffd at the request of workers
(more precisely, Alone Coder, because few people work besides him))
- Turbo 7 MHz (currently with WAITs in RAM). Elongation factor IORQ =
1.5 (my experience is that this is usually sufficient, while
short IORQ often leads to glitches). Turbo is completely disabled in TR-DOS
(half a year ago I spent a lot of time setting up ATM-Turbo 2+, where in TR-DOS
it just does WAIT). Also, the turbo turns off when entering the shadow (start)
ROM page, although this was not specifically intended, it worked out
automatically due to a simplified ROM page decoder. Average coefficient
turbochargement turns out to be about 1.6-1.7, in reality it varies from 1.5 to
2.0 depending on where (in RAM or ROM) the program being executed is located
and on the frequency of access to ports. The speed of the program in the turbo does not depend
from its address in RAM.
- Additional graphics mode 16 color. Spectrum screen, but each
the point is drawn in its own color, any of 16. This mode was proposed by AlCo,a detailed description in Info Guide 8. There are already a couple of demos for this mode and
a simple game.
- Additional graphics mode 384x304 pixels, normal color palette (2
colors on the familiar place). Detailed description in Info Guide 2.
- Ability to disable ROM and connect the 0th page of RAM to addresses 0-16384
- 3 ZX-BUS slots
- Modes are controlled via the eff7 configuration port (again via
requests of workers). The layout is like this:
bit 0 - enable 16 color mode
bit 1 - not used
bit 2 - switch to 128k mode (with bit2=1 memory above 128k is blocked, and on
bit 5 7ffd latch appears again)
bit 3 - ROM lock
bit 4 - Turbo (0 - there is a turbo, 1 - there is no turbo)
bit 5 - not used
bit 6 - enable 384x304 mode
bit 7 - not used
In addition, the board contains a stereo amplifier (2x0.5 W), a printer interface
ZX Lprint III (implemented only in hardware), PAL encoder, debugging of which
not finished yet (I'll finish it as soon as I print the datasheet on the MC1377).

There will be documentation. In the form of a circuit diagram, equivalent
FPGA logic diagrams, board layout drawing and brief technical description.
I haven’t yet decided what to do with the FPGA firmware files. But if anyone
will be needed for your health.

The development has already been completely completed. Production is scheduled to begin in July
(that means no earlier than August ;) ). The cost is still unknown. Depends on
how many boards I will order. I think it’s unlikely to be cheaper than 3000 rubles.
