RECONDITIONING THE MONITOR "ELECTRONICS MS 6106"

I offer radio amateurs who have an Electronics video monitor
MS 6106" from the domestic PVK "Electronics MS 0585", method
modifications, allowing it to be used as part of
IBM-compatible personal computer (PC).
As you know, a monitor, especially if it is of high quality, -
one of the most expensive PC components. Usage
the converted monitor will allow the radio amateur to independently
component of an IBM-compatible PC and limited in funds,
spend money first of all on purchasing “powerful”
system unit. Over time, such a monitor will of course
will need to be replaced with a more advanced one.
Proposed revision of "Electronics MS 6106" regarding
It’s simple and completely within the capabilities of even a novice radio amateur. All
designations of elements are given according to the factory circuit diagram.
The scan unit (SU) undergoes the greatest changes.
First of all, it is necessary to increase the horizontal scanning frequency from
15 to 30 kHz. For this purpose, capacitor C27 (4700 pF) in the master
generator is replaced with a capacitor of the same type with a capacity
2400 pF, and C41 (0.01 µF) in the output circuit is a capacitor
the same type with a capacity of 2200 pF. R67 (3 Ohm) should also be replaced
resistor with a resistance of 51 ohms. In order for personnelclock pulses from the input connector arrived at the personnel node
scanner, jumper connecting pins 1 and 2 on the unit board,
solder to pins 2 and 3. It is also advisable to replace the KD411BM
(VD16) with two KD226D diodes connected in series (they
more reliable) and connect the common wire of the block to the metal
monitor chassis (this will eliminate possible bending of vertical lines
in lines with long text).
Refinement of the high voltage block (HVB) is reduced to removing
(in order to adjust the BVH to a frequency of 30 kHz) capacitors C1
(6800 pF), C3 (1000 pF) and replacing R1 (3 Ohm) with a resistor
resistance 27 Ohm. The latter is required for limitation
the voltage at the anode of the kinescope is an acceptable value.
To ensure correct linking of the main video signals
colors to black level in all three channels A1-A3 of the block
video amplifiers (BVU) replace capacitors C5 (0.01 μF)
oxide, with a capacity of 15 μF with a rated voltage of at least
12 V (the terminals of their negative plates are connected to the common
wire). And so that the horizontal sync pulses enter the node
line scan independent of the video signal, jumper,
connecting pins 2 and 3 on the BVU board, solder on
pins 1 and 2.
Finally, if necessary, adjust the convergence of the rays with
using ring magnets on the neck of the kinescope, as well as
focusing and geometric distortion of the raster by rotationengines of the corresponding trimming resistors.
The redesigned video monitor works stably with most
programs in MS DOS environment. For example, an image of panels
the popular Norton Commander shell program is reproduced
without color distortion and quite clearly.
There are, however, some drawbacks to the monitor's operation: dimensions
the images become slightly smaller (it takes approximately
2/3 of the screen area), due to which the resolution suffers

can work with programs that use lowercase
sync pulses of positive polarity (for example, with the program
