There were rumors that robotics were either 95 or newer, which had just
such a bug. The solution was to buy a normal modem :(

If you don't touch DTR, it won't hang.
You need to write Dial_Terminate ~| , and not as by default v'^'|

In the terminal:
AT&F1
ATX3&W
And initialization according to ATZ.
PS. It is not necessary to write (&W) and ATZ, but it is more convenient.
It helped me, as far as I remember.

At what speed do you use the som port in Melon?
With more than 9600 this program does not allow *reliably*
work.
Power (+5V) to the modem must be supplied directly from that place
the main board of the computer, where it (power) comes from the unit
food :) Sorry for the taftology. :) There must be wires for this
*minimum* length and cross-section of at least 1mm.sq.!!! Right on
slot for the modem, unsolder the electrolytic capacitor (for
+5V, preferably tantalum, type K52-1V. or K53 series)
capacity
47...220 µF.

You yourself are crooked. :) Normal software. True, only a version
1.80+ (aka the last one) is free from most glitches.
!!! Melon needs to be launched from boot, which is before starting
BASIC programs do:
====================
LD IY,23610
RES 4,(IY+1)

If this does not happen, then Melon's glitching is for you

There is no need to look for anything. I thought so too some time ago.
I was wrong. All your problems are most likely not caused by
correct connection of the modem to the computer or problems *self*
modem So try the following:
1. The modem *must* be connected to the computer bus
conductors of the *minimum* possible length!!! 10cm is
maximum!!! Ideal - if the data bus is fed to the modem
"ribbon" (like a cable for a disk drive), in which the signal
the conductors go through one with the conductors of the common wire.
The number of conductors, of course, doubles :(,
but at the same time the noise immunity increases significantly.
2. Install between addresses A8, A9, A10 and the modem (for each
address) for two series-connected valves 555(1533)TL2
(Schmitt trigger). TL2 itself (you will need one case)
place in immediate
proximity to the modem! Ideally, solder directly on the slot.
(This item is recommended to be implemented last if
Nothing else helps. :)
3. “Decouple” the data bus of the modem and computer using a buffer.
