Ideology of the "Chimera" concept

Hello, acidrain
Judging by the questions asked regarding "Chimera", regarding its implementation
there is some misunderstanding.
The Chimera was thought to be a kind of combination of processor units -
phone. In fact, this is just one, the most obvious and quite
interesting implementation from a large variety of possible ones. The Chimera concept is
the concept of a modular scalable architecture that should replace
outdated and long ago not meeting modern desktop requirements
"all in one" concept and is the creative development of the most progressive of
concepts that existed in the ex-USSR - “Nemo Concept”. The very name "Chimera"
was chosen as a symbol of the interchangeability of parts when building structures
satisfying the current tasks being solved. This conceptual approach allows
not only give further development to the ZX platform, but also opens up the possibility
penetration into other areas of use previously inaccessible to the platform.
The ideology of this conceptual direction is universality,
standardization, unification.
Universality is all-inclusiveness, i.e. opportunity to unite
concept all possible areas of application as well as all existing ones
platform development concepts.
Standardization is the development of standards for modular compatibility, includingcompatibility by interfaces, by address space, by architectural
development (i.e. according to the principles of platform architecture development).
Unification - universal applicability and limited set of components for
implementation of various designs that satisfy the current tasks.
The embodiment of this ideology is achieved by dividing into functional
complete blocks, one of which is the processor unit, consisting (in
proposed option) from the set: CPU, ROM, SRAM, expansion interface,
communication interface, which represents in this particular implementation
stripped down ZX48. In addition to the processor unit, other CPU units are assumed
coordination, video processor unit + RAM, music unit. processor, expansion unit
NemoBus. All these blocks can have different circuitry, architectural and
etc. execution and purpose, but connected via a standardized interface
allowing the implementation of a design that meets the current tasks.
For example:
- the processor unit itself can be used in automation devices;
- processor unit, matching unit, video processor + RAM unit, music unit.
processor Ts is a standard diskless computer with the ability to connect
via communication interface to the server;
- the same, but with a NemoBus expansion unit and standard disk controllersfor this bus, as well as FDD, HDD, CD - this is a typical desktop option.
Moreover, all options are assembled from unified blocks, standardized
along the joint. With this approach, there remains a creative field for modifying the
blocks using different element base, different architectural and
circuit solutions, including the use of a CPU other than
original architecture, for example ARMTs for emulating both the Z80 itself and
use in other blocks.
P.S. There is a survey about the new section:
