There is a thick wire running along the perimeter of the screen (around the entire kinescope). It's a loop
demagnetization of the kinescope. Sometimes if she moves too close to
high-voltage terminal of the kinescope (suction cup), a breakdown is possible in this place.

In addition, there is a metal strip (bandage) along the perimeter of the kinescope,

kinescope, it was either dirty there or damp. Wiped it down so it was clean and dry,
