The CDOS modem has cleverly gone bad:
EMS 2.55 with driver (c) EVP-Soft loads and hangs. Error messages
or there is no modem. There is no blinking cursor in the terminal area,
The pointer stands motionless in the upper left corner - frozen.
When I replace the modem with another one, everything works. But! Faulty modem
works normally in the CDOS program, that is, it receives, transmits,
controls the line - Ok. Probably CDOS uses less
number of data bits (?). Question: what bits to dig...
(Probably start with the incoming call bit - check this function
failed)? Zhenya, what does your driver check that “Modem not detected”
does not appear, but EMS stops? Is he reading from the data bus?
and checks for a match with a specific given constant?

This morning I ran every conceivable computer test.
Everything is in order: memory, Int, data bus, and ROM...
I tried two spare modems - both Ok. Noticed that reading from the port
#EF gives different values when the line is not connected on all three modems.
Therefore, the cause is not a result of reading the port.
EMS with EVP driver _without_ a connected modem comes out in color
stains and falls off. (CDOS normally writes that the modem is not connected).
Maybe the driver is written down? (Although I tried from several copies
boot disk - the same everywhere). But when loading it writes
in the terminal window "CRC Ok".
Damn :-( .

Особенно при наличии мультметра (или хотябы светодиода)

Кнопки pA, pB - это что-то из CS+Cr SS+CR SS+Sp (на клаве под ISDOS было)

Uh-huh. There are 4 variants of values, differing in bits 4 and 7 ;)
Slightly different comparator thresholds...

Send me this driver (in the form of a hobeta) - I’ll look at it in the emulator.
EMS should not crash without detecting the modem - I checked it works in the emulator.
The driver should write something like ..installed on port #-- if it did not find the modem.
My modem was turned off by a button, and I don’t remember anything happening so that it would go off.In critical cases, when returning from the driver is impossible, it outputs to
border stripes...
What port is the modem on? Maybe he's fighting with someone?

I think that LL1 or LP8 is buggy. As a result of either more frequent sampling,
or (if the bug is with LL1) so that the code executed at that moment is in
address with a different state of the A4 line, the modem begins to dump garbage on the bus.
By the way, I saw a modem with soldered LL1...

Launched. It works. It's yours. In the emulator. The mode is simply pent-128.
It displays red-green stripes on the curb - it means it didn’t find the modem.

Does the test tool (mt.code) show the test bit?
What is written to D4 must be read from D5.
Is there any garbage coming from D5? Especially online?
